Sideline Squad

Post by BGorDeath »

I know there are still a few Anderson Animals around, but whatever happened to the famous Sideline Squad at men's basketball games? Please do not turn this into a "the team sucks" or "it's Dakich's fault" thread. Just an honest question here.

I don't think it's anything Dakich or anyone else did to drive them off. They all graduated. Sure they passed the tradition down to a few others, but for whatever reason our sports don't get enough student support to really sustain, and grow, traditions like that. I suspect that the same thing might happen to the Animals in a few years. As the students that started the group graduate there is not enough sustained interest to keep the group alive. Eventually it dies off.

It's not really anybody's fault...we just don't get enough students that live & die BG sports.

I know the guy who was sort of in charge of the sideline squad last year now tapes for a local tv station. I am not graduated, too. Things come and go all the time...

I hope he means now graduated. I hate to think I paid for 5 1/2 years and this is the result.

Metz, is there some way that the Animals shirts could be made by the University bookstore and sold there, or even be sold at the basketball games? That would make them easier to get a hold of, and would probably save you any more distress.
Yeah right girl!

The minute you get the school involved, lots of things have to change...
