During a discussion about how it would be sad if a team like BG doesn't end up in a bowl game, one of the announcers just said that there is no more exciting team to watch than BG.

Hey, I won't argue :D

Can I get a score/time remaining/situation update?

Yes, the score is still the same (52-0). We're playing pretty conservatively right now. Mostly running the ball and backups are in all over the place.

It's at commercial right now, so I'll give a time remaining when they come back.

6 30 or so left in the game.

Thank you.

Washington still in at QB? How come we can score 49 points in one half with Omar and then do nothing in the second half. Is it really because he is that good or because we don't let Washington and the second utlize the pass at all?

Van Johnson is in now. Lane still in. Nothing against him at all, but I still wish they would get some more RB's some carries.

Pope named player of the game and his 88 yard td was named play of the game according to firstenergy

4:30 left, BG punting. Kick is out of bounds inside the WMU 10. Another nice punt.

By the way, it doesn't seem like we are playing too badly. Just not opening things up.

And a correction.. Omar was named POG, not Pope. Pope did get the play of the game though.

I think its the same argument we got into last year, when Omar would come into games and hand the ball off. Of course I think the BIGGEST argument was when he came in and ran out the clock in the loss at Miami (I think, right?), which is a totally different circumstance. Second teamers should be able to run the offense, too, but already up 49-0 at half, we have to remember that what goes around comes around... *shrug*

That said, I was hoping we could get to 80!!!

Ball State was the game in which he came in with a 14-point lead, handed off, and then exited after Ball State cut into the lead.

I thought there was a game where he came in as "damage control" when we were down. I guess I might be wrong.

Oh, yeah you're probably right...

Was it the game at Miami when they were down 23?

I'm not sure, but you're probably right, I do remember that being brought up at some point.

He did come in at the end of the Miami regular season game and just ran out the clock. Some were not happy that we didn't fight all the way to the end with all of our starters. Is that the game you were thinking of?

Benjy Kennedy gets a catch. 1 minute left, BG ball at about the WMU 30. Looks like it will end at 52-0. Yep, that's it. Game over.

I agree. I kind of wanted to see Omar get one more quarter, but sure can't complain about the decision to pull him. It was clearly the right call.

FINAL STATS

Post by TG1996 »

Wow.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/footba ... score.html

666 yards of offense... the mark of the BG Beast!

Two runners over 100 yards, PJ over 200.. Omar with 300 passing on the nose in just one half of play. 8 receivers made catches. Keon with another huge effort on defense.

Shine up them boots, boys, its time to kick the Herd to CUSA!!!

EDIT: Better stats. :D (Omar 17 of 20!!!)
