ah true... i hear america singing was amazing. i got chills on the field when we got the standing ovation. truly a great show to be a part of.SaxyGirl85 wrote:i hear america singing has a special place in my heart because it was sept. 11th, it was my first show in the FMB, and it was just an overall amazing show...with men's chorus and a standing ovation and everything..it was REALLY cool. so that's definitely up there, but i also think Kickin' Brass from this year was prolly a close 2nd if not a tied 1st.
What was your favorite FMB song/show to perform?

I have looked at that video a few times. I try to block it out from my memory becuse it was such a bad show. I was more alluding to the fact that OU has about eight thousand or so videos of the 110 on there but no one from BG ever seems to post good FMB videos. Thanks for getting one out there Chase.bgmaggot00 wrote:Ask and ye shall receive... kind of.The Niz wrote:It seems like the FMB is the only band you can't find any good footage of on youtube.

Go about 3 minutes into that video, and you see a bit of the Harry Potter show along with some presumably interesting singing and commentary... in French. The rest of the video is crap though, don't waste your time.
Yeah right girl!

We don't need to be so obviously self promoting. I guess the gyrating 110 needs that because their sound certainly sucks. The Niz wrote: I was more alluding to the fact that OU has about eight thousand or so videos of the 110 on there but no one from BG ever seems to post good FMB videos. But, let me see if I can find my old BGSU marching tapes and get them over to my laptop.

My favorite to perform was the homecomming show from 1995. Chief, Mark Kelly for those of you who do not know, came back to direct and put us through our paces for the 2 weeks leading up to the game. We started with Emperate Overature to come out of the endzone and make a jet plane. The plane "flew" down the field to Leaving on a Jet Plane. Next up was the Marini arrangement of Get it On. We closed the show by playing Lady and dedicating it to the one and only Helen Kelley. That was a great show to be a part of not only because of the music, but because I got the chance to see the Chief at work.
To turn the conversation a bit, my favorite to watch would have to be I Hear America Singing. Dr. Skoog had me come out for rehersal in the stadium during the week and listen. It was obvious it would be a hit, but nothing prepared me for the actual performance.

I missed the concerts this semester. Damn living in Indiana! I hope it was included in a recording session. That is one piece that belongs on a CD. Thanks for the update, keep them coming.

Magaluna... Magageana... Magahuna... aww Hell. Dr. T found more mispronounciations for that word than humanly possible.murph wrote:Another song on my list is Malaguena. We played it in front of the largest college football crowd ever (Michigan had just expanded the stadium). And it was my first game.
That Michigan trip was pretty cool. 110,585 people watched the Wolverines pulverise the Blackney-led Falcons. Sweet. SACK LUNCH CHEER!

As a bass player, probably playing Can't Turn you Loose at basketball games with Jay Jackson directing... I'm PRETTY sure my fingers were bleeding a few times after that...
As a mellophone... Man, I'm with Mark, I loved that Sandi Patty show... Love playing The Score. Had a ton of fun with the Chicago show that season. (Matt Frost nailed the little trombone cadence at the end of Make Me Smile) Also really loved playing The Jetsons and Mambo.
