Is that the pot calling the kettle black?
I am not sure that they had pots or kettles in Oregon trail. If they did, I am sure they could not talk.

They had to use something to cook the assloads of Bison meat I brought home about 8 times a day.

And oh yeah -- everyone knows you shouldn't "Scandanavian geological structure" the rivers. Save your money for the ferryman, or else you won't last long enough for dysentery to kill you.
I swear it was fjord.....I looked it up and confirmed it too....Was my research poor?

Yes: Ford "A ford is a place in a watercourse (most commonly a stream or river) that is shallow enough to be crossed by wading, on horseback, or in a wheeled vehicle."
You ford the river, or go fording

Fjord: fjord (or fiord) is a narrow inlet of the sea between cliffs or steep slopes, which results from marine inundation of a glaciated valley.
Slartibartfast, the Megrathean, was awarded for his design of Fjords. (a few people, grant, will get this reference)

I'm pretty sure she shacked up with one of the two, or so I've read theories of, but I don't think anything was ever confirmed. It was known she married at least once, possibly twice, but never to any of the duo.

I'd rather gouge my eyes out with Paris Hilton's finger than try to engage in a meaningful debate with that sock puppet.

If OSU were third in the BCS, he'd be the first one in line with a pitchfork demanding a playoff, kind of like our esteemed ex-coach. Notice how he and Machen quit clamoring for a playoff when they jumped into 2nd? Same deal here. It's an argument of convenience, and more importantly, hypocrisy.
on the contrary, OSU was probably the best team in college football at the end of last year, yet they did not get a title shot, with a playoff they may have very well won the whole damn thing.

Did I ask for a playoff then? Did I line up with my pitchfork at the steps of NCAA HQ and demand one? negative.

I just said, no matter what you do about it, someone is going to bitch and complain and cry. Your pressing so hard because you are a UM fan who kind of got screwed out of a shot. Just like OSU last year too bad, great season get ready for next year.

the best way to determine a champions is the way MLB does it. play 3 series best of three and whoever comes out on top is the champ. That eliminates the fluke wins. But that is also not possible to do in college football.

BOTTOM LINE IS WE ARE STUCK WITH WHAT WE HAVE AND EVERYONE HAS TO PLAY BY THE SAME GUIDELINES AND THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE BEFORE THE SEASON STARTS.
SO WHAT EXACTLY IS THE PROBLEM?

I know it is not perfect but deal with it. I dont care either way if there are playoffs or if it remains as it is. coaches and teams will have to learn how to adjust for the longer haul. Thats it.

Boise national champs?? not even close.

Yes they beat Oklahoma, but Oklahoma is an average team at best who played in a weak very weak conference. The only reason they got in the BCS is because Texas fell apart later in the season.

You could argue about giving them their shot in a playoff but they would not make the title game. It took everything they had to beat an average Oklahoma team. They could not turn around and then beat an OSU, LSU, Florida, UM or USC the next week. If they did happen to win two games, it is even less likely they would do it three times. These other schools are bigger, stonger, faster, more athletic and Boise simply would not keep up.

The BCS as is is not perfect and a playoff wouldn't do much more to prove who the best team is. Say you had a playoff and all teams in it had 1 loss except for OSU. OSU loses in the first round to Notre Dame or LSU or someone who had one loss, OSU is not eliminated for losing one game. Who is to say, then, that they shouldnt get another shot at a title when they have lost just as many games as the eventual winner?

The way it is now is a playoff. It is a 118 team 12 week playoff called the regular season. Smaller schools may be auto eliminated because they start the season ranked so low that if they go undefeated it is impossible for them to make up the ground to get to #1 or #2 but that is for good reason. The teams that they play against (Mountain west, MAC, C-USA) are generally so weak and pathetic that there is not really a great way to evaluate how good an undefeated team from those conferences are.

With that said Boise St. proved they were a good mid major team who beat an average BCS team in Oklahoma but like I also said, the big 12 was not and is not at its current state, much better than the MAC or Mountain west.

I know Texas is in the big 12 and it takes away from that win OSU had against them but it is the truth, thats the way it is so to say Boise deserves a shot or that a playoff would help them is far fetched.

Why make them play another game or two and get demolished and go home with their heads down. We shouldn't take what they accomplished away from them by making them go home with their tails between their legs?

There is not and there will never be a great way to determine a Champion. The BCS will continue to be tweaked but it will never be done away with. There is too much money involved. The presidents of the universities will not approve of the football players missing three or 4 more weeks of classes, and they will not shorten the regular season because it takes away from determining who the playoff teams should be. It would be an inaccurate system if the regular season was shortened.
Oklahoma is a series of horrible calls at Oregon away from playing OSU on Monday. Average?
very average.. Oregon was an average team, the big 12 was an average conference, OU is an average team.

By this line of thinking...

very average.. Ohio State fans are average fans, Ohio State fans who didn't go to Ohio State are average, Tekekini is an average poster.

i dunno about average...i think they were a good team, but alot of posters are building em up to be the greatest team in college football, which just isnt true. frankly, i think they got lucky not going to a national championship because odds are they would lose and everyone would just say how stupid it was to put a mid major team in there. right now they've inspired debate about how well they could have done after winning. they're the hot team. if they wouldve lost in a higher bowl they'd be forgotten by now
