These girls are good

Post by TG1996 »

Forgot about the start time and hit gametracker with 13 minutes left and BG up 30-something. UB got within 26 or 27 down the stretch against the bench, but that was about it. BG wins by 33!

After the first ten to 15 minutes of that game it looked as though UB was not even going to get over 20 points in that game. GOOD, no, GREAT defense.
Yeah right girl!

Yeah, just another blowout win and another dominating defensive performance. Goldsberry is defensive menace. Next up, the Kent St. Flashes Wed Jan.10 in Anderson. That should be a good one, as KSU is probably one of the very few Mac teams that can compete with us for more than a half. Also just in time for more students to be there as school starts Mon.

Kent State is not a good team this year. They are 5-8, have an RPI in the mid 200s, and the lost to Akron by 32 today.

Ball State, NIU, and Ohio "look" like the best also-rans this year. I wouldn't sleep on EMU either.

That game was fun to watch though today. I love shot clock violations. The refs were particularly terrible today. They enjoyed making bad calls that weren't even their's to make. Combine that with Buffalo's coach taking timeouts at really stupid times, and the game didn't develop much of a flow. She let us go on a 17-0 run without calling a timeout, but then her team goes on a mini 5-2 run, and she calls a timeout for no reason with 7:53 left, right before a media timeout. She called a timeout at the exact same time in the second half too, and then 1 with a minute left, down by 35, and didn't make any substitutions. That chick was goofy.

Basically, another day, another dollar.

edit: I forgot to add -- There were 4 or 5 straight defensive possessions during the first half run, when it was painfully obvious Buffalo just didn't have any chance to score. Our team just wasn't going to let it happen. We knew it, the crowd knew it, and Buffalo knew it. After that, the Buffalo players knew they had no shot in Hell to beat this team.

The Akron score was actually a typo on ESPN. Kent won.

Well that makes more sense, but Kent is still more than a few steps back from the Shearer years.

I wouldn't discount them, however.

Who's discounting them? We can't afford to discount any team left on our schedule, except Toledo :)

They're just not as good as Falconboy still thinks they are, and they are nowhere near as good as the KSU of the last few years. The Shearer KSU teams were a force, and were not very far below us in terms of talent.

A little birdie tells me that Ali scored 24 after having wisdom teeth removed on Thursday! THAT is tough!

We had such a great time at AA yesterday. Megan Thorburn was drilling 3's left and right. I love the team's defensive intensity! Great crowd on hand and Buffalo wasn't in the game after the first 5 minutes.

I think BG is gonna roll Kent State based on how intense the D has been. I know Kent busted up Akron pretty well yesterday but outside that game, they've been struggling all year. BG is simply on a whole different level than the rest of the MAC this year.

GO FALCONS!!! CRUSH KENT!!!

Let us all thank the oral surgeon who removed them ASAP and didn't have her make an appointment for 2 weeks later. I would suppose the Mann Clan would have been a bit persuasive. :smt027

Yeah, it was cool seeing you and the Freaklings at the game. Was this your first ladies game in Anderson? Hope you can make it out here again for future games, I know its a major drive so kudos. :D
