All quiet on the Buckeye Front...
...here at work. I was humiliated by the OSU throng here when BGSU laid that egg at Temple. The "Hoo Hoo" chants and "BG sucks" got pretty bad. The talk leading up to last night's game was OSU blowout, no problem! But there was one major problem...FLORIDA. What a great game plan devised by Urban and his staff. They attacked OSU and shut them down. I brought in a box of "Gator Flakes" with Meyer's pic on the box they sell in Fl. My parents got it for me when they were down there. I've offered every OSU fan "The Breakfast of Champions". Paybacks are a bitch, babe! I still congratulate OSU on a great season...wire to wire in the regular season. They have a tremendous coach and the talent. They just got dominated. I thought they would lose at least 3 games this year and I was wrong. Tressel will have them back, unfortunately. I'd like to see the program slip but it won't with him at the helm.
To all the obnoxious, arrogant OSU fans? CHOMP THIS! I'm afraid there aren't many folks outside the OSU fan base in Ohio that feel sorry for you. I know I don't...CHOMP THIS.
GATOR BAIT.
That's all I have to say about that. Today is going to be a great day.
Congrats Urban and the Gators on the Title.
GO FOOTBALL!

So Mike,
It's not like you're happy today, right?
Talked to my OSU "educated" daughter right before the game....had her two kids all dressed in red, posters up around the house etc. according to her....they probably went nuts after the opening kickoff....but I didn't have the "nastiness" in me to do what I almost did...call her after the game and ask how her "bucks" made out.
To be honest, I can't wait to get to my cardiac rehab group tomorrow, the group that teases (goodnaturedly) me about my BG stuff and loyalty. They were all wearing RED yesterday in honor of their mighty bucks too. Sad to say that two of them are KSU grads...will they ever learn? But I'm wearing as much ORANGE and Blue as I can to the session.....who knows..I might even take in today's PD with me!

LOL!!! Great to hear, Den. At least for one day, the mighty Buck$ and their arrogant fans must eat humble pie. I must say they've been pretty cool about it today here at the office...must be the shock still in effect.Class of 61 wrote:So Mike,

They both get smoked in a bowl.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Thought I would share some quotes from my cooperating teacher, who is a huge Buckeye fan:
"If I were an OSU player, I would not get out of bed this morning. They played like a bunch of pansy high school kids."
"I think Ted Ginn Jr. wasn't hurt; he just knew he couldn't live up to the kick return. If I was his dad, I would have left after chewing him out."
(she prefaced this comment with the fact that she really likes Troy Smith) "I think we should go to his house and take back the Heisman trophy. I hope he goes in the second round of the draft."
Also my dad heard that Ginn's injury was the result of celebrating following his touchdown...I haven't read any of the articles because I watched the game, but hadn't heard that.
Maybe we should have had the OSU-Michigan rematch because that might have at least been an exciting game...although I definitely think USC vs. Florida would be a better game.

I also read that he was injured celebrating the touchdown. That, in my opinion, completely negates any shred of credibility the "...but if Teddy Ginn..." argument may have (or never) had.
I'll have to agree, it was fun walking around and seeing a scarlet-less campus after the sickening sight of so many OA&MU jerseys yesterday.
A kid came into my UNIV 411 class and we were supposed to say our highs and lows for the previous week, and when the teacher saw his hat (Buckeyes) and his face after she asked, she just moved on. Amazing.

Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed. Saw a lot more orange and brown on campus today. Well imagine that. To be fair though, the vast majority of OSU fans aren't making excuses about why they should've won (Ginn, etc.) like I assumed they would. Anyone I talked to is actually admitting that OSU was outcoached and outplayed, so that's something. More than anything, Buckeye fans are embarrassed, and giving Florida their due.BGFalconfromCincy wrote:nothing better then walking around campus and seeing zero osu gear
