Congratulations on the ranking. A great accomplishment. Kinda scarey though. Miller will be a highly attractive coach to those with big $$$$ and a need.
If he was interested in leaving he probably would have had his chance last year or the year before. This may be the orange kool-aid talking but I think he wants to finish something here.
This isn't something that we should dwell on right now. These are the good old days, and we should enjoy them.
But this is a senior-laden team, and I've always thought that 2006-07 was the potential dream season. If I as a very casual fan could see that, Miller probably could imagine that, too.
I think my drift is apparent. We'll see what happens.
I don't know Miller. But I do know this: As outclassed as a fella like Gregg Brandon may feel when he stops to consider the paycheck of a guy like Nick Saban or that fella at Ohio State, our womens coaches get that same feeling too -- when they look at facilities, when they look at what they can pay their smaller staffs, that kind of thing.
Paul Krebs did an excellent job of keeping some of our star womens coaches happy, it seems to me. We will see what Christopher is made of in this off season, I would think.
Not that it matters a whole heck of a lot if he wants to take a big job, but Miller extended his contract through June 30, 2011 right after last season. I have no idea how much he makes and how it relates to other top 25 coaches, but I bet the average discrepancy is a whole lot smaller than in foosball or men's hoops.
FWIW, I get the feeling he wants to stay here for the foreseeable future.
If you want to worry, worry about losing Jennifer and Kevin.

Great Point, J4H. The entire staff is top notch. I wish I could make this game. It really sux to live 2 1/2 hours away and have to have a job...LOL.
I'll be listening on the net. I am definitely taking a 1/2 day off for SR Night on 2/28. I told Mrs. Freak since my birthday is 2/26, all I want is to be there for the final home game for these Seniors....They have given so much and have been a blast to support and follow.
GO BG!!! BEAT KENT STATE!!

FALCON FOOTBALL ROCKS!
Somewhere deep down, I want to lose one of those two, but that is only for selfish reasons. The whole staff has done a great job in all areas of their responsibilities. I don't think that coach is going anywhere right now. I don't know how much he is getting paid at BG, but he passed up pretty good money when he said he wasn't going after the CSU when it opened up. I think that he really loves the town and the school, and I can see him staying for a while. Sometimes, some people aren't always driven just by the money.

We have a foosball coach? Cool!
It wouldn't be Helen Boucher now would it? I know her boy Bobby used to play that ole foosball. But I think she used to think foosball was the devil, just like girls. So perhaps not.

I knew someone would get the reference
And for the record, Gregg Brandon is obviously the devil.

Schade: Sage words, my friend. I remember watching the 1985 football team roll through that magical undefeated season and thinking - well, this is just how BG football will always be. The Stolz put the screws to the players before a bowl game, 90% of the seniors graduate and, well, the rest is Moe Ankney-laden history. Looking back, I wish I had appreciated the whole experience a lot more.
Moral of the story: Enjoy this season!
