A new forum suggestion

Post by Bleeding Orange »

I'm sure that this has come up before and I have just missed it, but screw it - I think the women's basketball team deserves their own forum. I don't know why this thought just crossed my mind, but it did, and I'm going to ramble now as a result. :-D

Seriously, though, I think that this program has become important enough to the national image of BGSU that visitors to this site from other schools, the media, etc. might look more favorably on our program (admittedly, in a miniscule way) if they had their own forum like our other three major sports do. The kind of success that this team is having is nearly unprecidented both for BGSU and the MAC, and I think it might be a nice gesture, at least, to make this happen.

If this would create logistical nightmares for our Grand Commander, then I totally understand not doing it. But, if it doesn't, why not?

Am I to take the overwhelming silence as a collective "hell no?"

Well, BO, since you have had lots of time on your hands lately, I think you should head up an investigatory committee on a new Women's basketball forum. In fact you could sit down and create a whole site devoted to BG/NCAA women's hoops, a la ukhoopsfans

Personally, It doesn't bother me the way things are now.

Bleeding Orange, I am right with you. There is nothing wrong with having a forum dedicated to the BEST team BGSU has right now. I would either advocate for a women's hoops forum or just a men's sports forum and a women's sports forum. The easiest solution however, would be to talk about ALL BGSU basketball in the "Hoops" forum since the title does not specify men's or women's basketball. But I am sure that won't happen... But, ultimately it is up to Grant and I will bow to his decision because he provides us with this site. Thanks Grant!!!!! :D

PGY, I'm not really bothered by the lack of a women's hoops forum, either. Like I said, it was just a suggestion. Had I the knowledge to set up a forum, I would do it in a heartbeat. But, alas, that has never been my bag.

I would love if there was just a women's hoops forum, but speaking from the IT geek perspective, I'd tell you it already exists.

If it were solely up to me, and thank God this place isn't, I'd put the word "Men's" in front of the hoops forum, I'd change the word "sports" in the women's sports forum to "hoops", and I'd drive the miscellaneous softball, gymnastics, volleyball etc chat to the other sports forum.

But that's just me. :)

I made the changes listed above. I really didn't want to add another forum, but renaming made sense. Thanks for the suggestions.

I toyed with re-arranging as well, but kept them sorted in order of popularity instead.

I've seen your picture and No, you don't looks very good. Moreover it should be "I look very good." And again-you don't. :-D
