Does this game have a tentative date/weekend yet?
September 29th sticks in my mind for some reason, but I don't know why.

Not only will I not be able to attend, but I'll likely be on a plane most of that day.

Date of your funeral isn't it?

It's The Journey became a dead man walking last year, and now you too.

hi again! :D

or... apologies for my return. depending on your point of view. :(

i'm hoping to make the trip next year. it's on my list of away games, along with hawaii for some reason. i have a friend in toledo who's a BGSU fan, and i know he's going to be there. probably in orange body paint, like he wears to the office.

you fans were easily some of the classiest and wittiest fans us Boise people have interacted with, so it'd be great if i can make the trip and down a few cold ones with you.

and as my BSU colleague said, we don't get Leinenkugel in Idaho :( which makes this former midwesterner sadder than bill clinton on his anniversary.
:smt088

have a great off-season... i'll be passing the time by watching D'Arcy McConvey lighting the lamp for our Idaho Steelheads. \:D/

There's nothing set in stone just yet, but since I'll finally have my own place next year I'm planning on having at least one shindig after a football game or something next season. Since I don't get much (or any at all) tailgating done because of band, I thought this would be a good way for posters like me (we'll call it tailgating challenged) to hang out with the other true fans.

How this is relevant to this topic: This and homecoming are the top two dates under candidacy.

While I am happy for Urbie, bumbed for the bucks. i must say that using the arbitrary rules for Crowning Champions in D1 Football...The BRONCOS are clearly it!!!!! UNCONTESTED, undefeated NATIONAL CHAMPIONS.
Anyone who says different is nuts. Until there is an inclusive playoff system we will never know any different.
As for us vs you...well hopefully we have a fr or soph QB at the helm as turner blows. Hopefully we have real punter and kicker...and our long snaps stay solid.
I am optimistic, but next year will be good, and far better than this year.

Oh man, i cannot wait for this one!! I think this will be a great game. We have a stud running back in Bullock just as Boise's Johnson. Both teams will be sporting new QB's hopefully as Turner had his chance and blew it. I think Glaud needs to start. I didnt see anything positive out of Sheehan. I think our defense will continue to get better, we did lose Parks and T-White who were the leaders of our defense. But we have studs such as Diyral Briggs and Erique Dozier to take their place. I also think having a healthy DJ Young in there to clog the middle will help us tremendously against the run. I think we have two stud recievers in CP and the X-Factor Freddie Barnes. The O-Line will be very good again. I am praying nightly that the new kicker and punter can be successful. I think that GB is smart enough to fix the special teams. That easily cost us 2 games last year in Miami and Temple. We need better play out of the secondary, but they were very very young last year and surrendered a lot of big plays that put us in bad situations. I think that a healthy PJ Mahone to go along with Jarret Sanderson give us a great saftey tandem for the next 3 years. And we must not forget about Jahmal Brown. He is a good player.

I think that we are in for a pleasant surprise from our Falcons next year. Now, I am not saying that we are going to go 12-0 or 11-1, but there is no doubt that, especially in the MAC East, we can get to the MAC Title Game in Detroit. I cannot wait for next season to start. Last year couldn't have gone any worse, with the special team play, the injuries and just plain bad luck we suffered. I think that we will be a forced to be reckoned with very shortly.

I made a big post on next season in a different thread, I agree with many of your points here.

The secondary must improve, they gave up way too many big plays. If we have sanderson and mahone healthy it will help. It would also help us to get another CB to replace antonio smith because he sucks.

We need to get our best QB on the field to compliment our running game with Bullock. If that is Turner, he should play. If its Glaud, then it should be him, same with Sheehan. We are gonna need better QB play next year if we are truly to be a good offense again.

Partridge and Barnes will be solid receivers I'm sure. But I think we need another guy to compliment them and really be able to run our traditional spread offense. Hopefully the hotshot freshman, Pronty, will be able to do that. Also, if we could get Winovich and Odrobinak involved in the offense it will really help us confuse defenses.

I'm not convinced our defense will ever be that great, but if Young is healthy and we aren't beat up on the D-Line this year it will help us pressure opposing offenses. Along with the secondary, these I think are the keys to a decent defense next year since the linebackers are pretty good.

And then all this, combined with some imaginative coaching by GB, should give us success next year.

Next year should be pretty interesting for Boise. The main questions will be at QB and Linbackers. It looks good on paper now. My biggest worry is whether we will be able to keep our current coaching staff together through the off season. They seem to have a lot of chemistry now and it would be best if we don't have to mess it.

I noticed that you guys are losing your OL coach. Sorry to hear that. Please don't come after ours. He's no good. You don't want him! ;-)

I saw the renderings of your new building the (SEBO?) Looks nice. Congrats. Will it be done by next season? We are also starting construction in a month or so on a big suites project and stadium expansion to follow. http://www.broncosports.com/ViewArticle ... R_CONTENT=

It is good to see other small schools expanding. Ours is coming too late. There will be no seats left after season ticket holders get theirs, so many BSU fans will be left out in the cold again this year. We have to take out our track around the field for the next expansion phase so it may be a couple years because the place for the new track is not ready yet.

One more question: I noticed that after the 07 game in BG that you guys come back to Boise one more time. I don't see another game in BG. When we ended up going to Utah instead of BG last year, did you guys lose that return game, or is it rescheduled? Anyone know for sure.

Thanks again,

Good luck with your recruiting! I hope you take the MAC next year!

Actually, that was our offensive coordinator. He is going to LSU to be their OL coach.

Yep, we lost a home game in there some how. So this in essence has turned into a 2-for-1 deal. But it worked ok for us since the MAC helped us schedule a road game at Temple last year to replace the home game we were supposed to have with Boise St. Oh wait. We lost that game. :x

It's supposed to be done by the spring, maybe early summer. For a project that took a little while to get its legs under it, it's come along very well and looks outstanding!
