WMU
WMU is currently 8-12 (1-5), but they just got their best win of the year over Ohio. They've played some good teams, and kept the game close against some of them (3 at Wisconsin, 13 @ Marquette, 7 @ Xavier, 9 @ Auburn). They've also been blown out by some good teams (20 @ ND, 43 @ Temple, 16 @ Ball State). Their RPI is in the high 100s, and Ohio is the best RPI team they've beat, also in the mid-high 100s.
This team is all about Carrie Moore, as she averages 25.5 and 6.5 on the season. SO Tiera Delahoussaye is their Kate Achter, and she's also a very good player. Past those 2 and Lindsey Brown (12 and 8 ), they have almost no depth to speak of. I'm guessing we'll press most of the day, and keep running fresh bodies at them. This team has the ability to beat us if we don't play well. Hopefully everybody's healthy now, and we can win comfortably. I'm guessing WMU will keep it close in the first half, until we can wear them down with our depth.
Also, if you go to WMUbroncos.com and browse around, you can sign up for Bronco Insider for 9.95 a month. This will allow you to watch the game on streaming video Wednseday, and then cancel your account before the month is up. It uses the same technology as the other feeds, and those have been a little flaky recently. I didn't get the feed for the BG-Kent game Saturday until 6 minutes left in the first half. I already signed up for this feed though.

Sheese...right back on the road for 3 more. This, I think, will certainly test the team's mental toughness. All it takes is one bad night for an opponent to pull the upset. WMU is capable to beating anyone in the MAC on any given night...I'm confident the team is ready cuz that's the way Miller time does it.
One game at a time...this is a season that should never end.

Anything is possible...BG was tested at Ohio and Miami. While those teams are better than WMU, WMU is still 8-12 overall. That's the reason I posted this: "All it takes is one bad night for an opponent to pull the upset. CRUSH THE BRONCOS!!!
Nothing is a lock...I want BG running the table and ending the regular season at 27-2. But teams are gonna be giving the Falcons their best shot on a nightly basis.
I learned my lesson a while ago that ANY game can be won or lost...and overconfidence can kill you.

Ohio didn't push us at all. We were up by 18 with 4 minutes left and coasted in. The score was deceptively close. As for Miami, they legitmately pushed us, and that was probably our worst performance of the season thus far, except for maybe Notre Dame.Falconfreak90 wrote:Anything is possible...BG was tested at Ohio and Miami. I realize that the other conference teams will be giving us their best shot every night, particularly when we play on the road. But let's not get dilusional. The only team that can beat Bowling Green, is Bowling Green. As long as we don't beat ourselves with turnovers and poor decisions, we're gonna go 19-0 and win our 3rd straight MAC title with ease.
WMU wins one game in conference and suddenly they can beat anybody in the MAC? I find that laughable. That's like saying because the Charlotte Bobcats beat the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday, they're ready to beat the Phoenix Suns. Yeah, bull s**t.

Yes, it would be a pretty big upset.
No, it's nowhere near impossible.
If you've ever seen Carrie Moore play, you'd know why it's possible. She's in the Shearer/Coleman class of player. To take any team lightly with that type of player on it, on the road, with a huge bullseye on your back, is not wise at all. I guarantee you Miller has been telling his team these very things.
I don't think we'll lose, but I'm not overconfident to the point where I don't think it's possible.

This is obvisously from someone who wasn't there. I was there and OU did push us. Yeah we were up 18 with four minutes left, and thats because "the run" didn't happen until late in the game. OU has up by four on us twice in the first half, and I think up by six once in that first half. Whenever we tried to get on a run OU was able to stop it. When it comes to being a fan of this team, I'm taking one game at a time, just like the time, WMU is the focus, any team is beatable, just ask the Wisconsin and Marquette men, who have each lost to North Dakota State in the past two seasonsbgsufalcon24 wrote:Ohio didn't push us at all.

I was there and I'd have to say the score was closer than the game was. We played our "C" game and that's what kept it close. Shots weren't dropping and we didn't get a lot of breaks. I wouldn't say we dominated OU by any means, but like you said - we were up 18 with 4 minutes left. They made a run in the last 90 seconds of the game hitting a couple 3's and we missed FTs.BGFalconfromCincy wrote:This is obvisously from someone who wasn't there. I was there and OU did push us. WMU is going to be tough - obviously you have to deal with Moore, but they have more than one weapon, and its always tough to win on the road. This team lost to Central by 20, which doesn't make me get too intimidated by them, but I think the combo of Carin and Goldsberry on Moore is going to play in our favor, as long as we stay out of foul trouble and play our game, we'll win by 10-15 pts on the road.

Get what? All I know is that we're good and they're bad. Yeah they have one player who scores all the points, but we have at least 4 or 5 players who are capable of lighting it up on offense at any time, and we have a total defensive effort so frustrating that nobody ever seems to get out of the 50s against us. It's that simple. The only team in the MAC that can beat Bowling Green, is Bowling Green, and we'd have to play REALLY bad for that to happen, especially against some team that's 1-5 in the conference.Falconfreak90 wrote:You don't get it, do you?bgsufalcon24 wrote:Ohio didn't push us at all. For once, I'm sensing negativity on this board, its seeping in from the hockey forum. Somebody better fix that hole in the glass.

Hmmm. Recognizing the logical, definitive fact that there is a reason that games are played in person and on a court for a reaons is suddenly being negative?
Better get fitted for a new tinfoil hat, 24. The metal ones are most definately coming.

Let's just leave it until Wednesday night. I say BG wins by 20. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.Bleeding Orange wrote:Hmmm. Recognizing the logical, definitive fact that there is a reason that games are played in person and on a court for a reaons is suddenly being negative?

As for the metal hat, as long as they've got one in orange and brown, its cool. It'll be the perfect complement to my jersey.
