Too bad....

From award winning natural turf to fake turf. All because we failed to find an adequate replacement for one of the best grounds keepers around.

When I spoke with Greg Christopher last week at the Indy alumni gathering, I mentioned I was at the Miami(OH) game, and he said that game ruined our field and we were going to have to get a whole new one. Before I could drop the FieldTurf question, they pulled him away to give a small speech.

Having been on this board forever...I can say with some degree of certainty that if factman says it wil happen, it will happen. He's source enough for me.

That's why he's factman....maybe I should change my username to "half assed opinion man?"

It better be. If it's that old outline logo, I will be ashamed of my university for not getting rid of that piece of garbage.

I hope the field looks something like this:

Image

With field turf, will this open the stadium up to more events? The return of concerts? The return of graduation?

With the configuration the way it is now they could put a semi-permanent stage in the south endzone and the lighting cage would still be low enough for the video board to show the band or graduates receiving their diplomas.

Contrary to bgsufalcon24's post, I think this image would be a great look for the field. That being said, I hope we keep the real grass, though that seems more and more unlikely.

That field would be awesome. I prefer the outline logo, too.

That field looks cool, but I'm not sure I like the contrast of the new lettering style for the end zones to the traditional logo. With the traditional logo in the middle, I would almost rather have some kind of old-school font that just said "Falcons" in the end zones.

As far as field turf goes, I'm a purist that absolutely loves football on grass, but I think this is an appropriate change. I just hope we don't half-ass it.

Ugh...just ugh.

Please for the love of god don't put that stupid new falcon at the 50 yard line.

So much for renewing my Falcon club membership...it was fun while it lasted.
