.......BG is way ahead on Marshall late in the game! I agree what he did against WMU was a classy move by not pounding WMU any further after halftime. I can appreciate seeing a coach do that. But, on the other hand, if we happen to be as fortunate against Marshall to be way out ahead of them like that, I wouldn't mind seeing us throttle them one last time! With a national ranking in our reach, a bowl berth up for grabs and Marshall bolting the MAC......let's give them a going away present - BG style!!!
GO BG!!!
I have to agree on this one. Normally it is good to be respectful, but in this case, lets set a school record for points scored. There is no need to embarass long-standing MAC members and opponents. Let's face tacking on 50 points is pretty much stripping pride from your opponent and will leave a lasting memory. But this is different.
Let's hope we get to see Miami in the MACC again and pay back the favor from last year.

I don't think anyone would mind seeing us run up the score on them! I don't care if it's the first quarter or fourth...116-0 sounds nice to me! I only say 116 because I think the NCAA record is 115. If I am wrong, feel free to correct me!

Well, our school record is 151-0 in 1920 vs. Findlay. So, we really have something to shoot for!

I thought it was 222, that Ga Tech-Cumberland game that ended up 222-0. Maybe it was 212-0. Hmmm... I wonder what the most points between two D-1A schools is?HuskieDan wrote:Gentlemen, the 1A record for points in a game is 212. Don't be afraid to try to best it in this game. While we *should* win impressively, and I've made a prediction to back that up in another thread, we still have to come out and execute like we have been. We know that our gameplans can change drastically and the team on the field doesn't match the team in our minds. If we come out clicking from the opening kick, I don't think Marshall will hang at all. If we struggle early, I hope we don't immediately scrap the playbook and try something totally different.

I broke the record on NCAA 2005 by scoring 104 and most of the records on there have been accurate. I just went and checked! Wyoming beat Nortern Colorado in 1949 by a score of 103-0! Here is a link to the official record book too:

You are correct. Now you have your target.TG1996 wrote:I thought it was 222, that Ga Tech-Cumberland game that ended up 222-0. Maybe it was 212-0. Hmmm... haha good god we won't be scoring 222 points on Marshall. Theres no way in hell, thats what a TD every 2 mins?? haha thats madness. I would love to watch a game like that because I just can't believe it. If we score 50 points that would be great but I am thinking 40-45 is probably more like it with the Turds putting up 14-21 points.

Well, at the pace we were going Sat., we were up for a 98-0 win. Whats one more TD? Surely we would've gotten a Defensive TD in there somewhere. Anyway, I have this feeling that we won't be doing that against the Herd....but I wouldn't mind it.

Way tooooooo much blah, blah about BG running up the points on Marshall. Marshall is a good team, not in a bottom feeder catagory like the teams BG has been playing. Counting your chickens before they're hatched can be the kiss of death. Marshall easily has the potential for beating Bowling Green. Don't hold your breath for some big point spread. It ain't gonna happen. Of course, I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I am.
