I truly hope you're joking.

And by the way, it's the Browns copying off us :)

always a, those are indeed our colors but seal brown is such a rarely used color that sometimes it is literally difficult- and always more expensive- to get seal brown uniforms for certain sports. Hockey, volleyball and sports like that.

I do love our colors though. I am an orange and brown man all the way. Orange, in particular, means BG to me.

Flipper, you started this long discussion highlighting potential QB Nate Brown. Central Pennsylvania Falcon insiders tell me Brown indeed will be a Falcon. This Harrisburg athletic and big QB will likely turn down Temple, Buffalo, etc. I hope they are correct as they see he is a very mobile player with a strong arm.

Go Falcons!

If they can make those jersies for the Oregon Ducks- now there are some wild combinations. They ought to find some Brown somewhere. Ask me for a donation to afford brown and see if I can help before they go to black.

And I don't think anyone is a moron for making cool jersey pictures in photoshop. I know you were having fun.
I could learn to like field turf. See there- look how progressive I can be. :-D

jeebus wrote:the brown jersey's are ok, but it makes them look too much like the browns. i know that doesnt seem that bad to some of you fans but ppl i know just think we're copying the browns.
And if we went with black, people would just think we were copying the Bengals.... Also, it is perfectly feasible to get brown hockey jerseys... after all, we had them for YEARS before Pooch switched to the new Nike jerseys.
There's a lot on this board that are pretty big traditionalists (see the Turf war going on) and a lot of people will fight tooth and nail for these things. I love seeing new ideas and love seeing mock-ups of these things.
That's because we "traditionalists" LIKE brown and orange together. To the best of my knowledge, there are no other D-1 colleges that use burnt orange and seal brown. Why mess with a unique identity by adding a third (clashing) color?

the uneducated viewer thinks we copied off of the browns more because with the solid brown jerseys we look like the browns...same helmet almost solid brown jersey with white pants.... IF that jersey was serious it would look NOTHING like the bengals in that there are no tiger stripes, nor is there white. furthermore the layout is nothing like the bengals. and black is a very complimentary color. pink would clash...not black.

once again...i LIKE brown and black together. i LIKE the current jerseys. however i dunno if i said this but i made that jersey for fun. it was an expirment. it looks good. its still unique.

For the record, the combination of black and orange are cool as hell if you are a Beaver. Now, don't get me wrong (and no matter what TG tells you), I dig the hell out of Beavers, but I am a much bigger fan of our Burnt Orange and Seal Brown as far as colors go. Remember, no other school's colors have impacted the colors of a professional franchise the way ours have.

Thank you, though, Jeebus, for giving me the to express my love for Beavers. TG can say all he wants, but man am I a fan of that mammal! :-D

In division I-A, the only other schools that use brown are Western Michigan and Wyoming -- and Western Michigan has practically eliminated it in favor of black.

We shouldn't do that.

I like our brown jerseys. I think that's what we should wear at home. They worked for Doyt Perry, Don Nehlen and Denny Stolz. They may have inspired Paul Brown. They work for me.

Brown Jerseys and non-metallic orange pants are the key!

I read a recent article that said Brown would probably wait until signing day to anounce his decision. Can you confirm that he will come to BG? scout has him at 3 *'s.

The first priority should be putting names on the backs.

This is Division IA college football and unless I'm in State College, PA, I'd like to be able to identify the freakin' players by name, particularly given the 30 or so freshmen that played last year.

The whole "team/unity" angle for not including them was rather unceremoniously disproven last year.

I think this should be the case for all of our teams. It is very annoying to constantly have to refer to a roster to identify newer players.

USC doesn't have names on the back either. I could go either way on the issue. On one hand it looks "pro" but on the other hand I like the understated look and the fact the fans should know their team and the players should play hard to get the fans to know them sort of motivation. . .

I've always been fond of having names on the back of the jerseys myself.

I think the new Bowling Green word mark should be on the jersey front something like this:
