I like DD's brown helmet as well. These are rather radical, however.

So...a logo first put on our hats in like 1983 counts as tradition? We aren't Michigan, Ohio State or Penn State. I don't want to be. We have had this helmet for 3 seasons. Ohio State changes it's logo once every 68 years. They do it subtly, but all one has to do is remember: this hasn't been around forever-redskins4ever wrote:Maybe its just me... but I don't own a single thing from Miami that has that stupid logo on it. Its either the classic M.. or it says Miami on it... no birds head... and I attended when we didn't even have a mascot during the first football game of the season!
These new logos are to inspire new sales, its the same reason NBA franchises constantly change colors and logos... and sometimes names... to drive new merchandise sales.
You don't see Michigan going out and changing their logo for anyone... the winged helmet is one the most recognized helmets in all of college football. I will always live by it the motto KISS... Keep It Simple Stupid!
Everyone wants to leave an Imprint on the world, make some huge giant leap, when if they took 10 small improvements they would make the huge giant leap and the overall product would be better. Its the same reason why the Japanese have just about put the Big 3 into the ground, nailed their coffins shut and buried them. The Big 3 want to hit a homerun... when a bunch of singles are just as good.

The primary complaint about our current helmets is that it's difficult to gauge what the logo is on television. Put Space Ghost on the side of an orange helmet (with our without the white outline), and we're doomed to repeat the history many of us complain about.Schadenfreude wrote:I don't agree.Rightupinthere wrote:WINNER!Falcon30 wrote: Just the BG - I like this one too.
To switch to that, with our cool retail logo lurking about, would be much like choosing a Chalupa -- and leaving Carmen Electra to keep banging on the screen door.
The point is, they SHOULD care. We have a great tradition at BG, and shouldn't shelve it just to sell a few more t-shirts.jeebus wrote: and younger fans, who could possibly become our new omars and joshes, dont give much of a damn about the history of our old falcon

I guess I don't think changing our uniform changes our tradition and history.TG1996 wrote:The point is, they SHOULD care.
