just a hunch, but I think Kate is going to score a LOT of points next season. She was a big time scorer in High School and has shown flashes of being able to put up bunches of points when the team needs it from her during her college career.. I don't think it's unreasonable to think that they'll need it from her every night next season. In fact, I think she "could" lead the conference in scoring AND assists next season....top 5 in both categories for sure.
2007-2008 is the season that the world of Women's College Basketball finds out just who Kate Achter is.....and just how good she really is. I predicted that for her Sr. year the first time I saw her play as a Frosh and I haven't changed my mind in the years that have followed.

No doubt my man. Kate just might be our best chance for a MAC POY. Our currant balance and makeup just won't allow for a Mac POY candidate for us this year.
Good points, guys. MAC POYs happen when a great player combines with a dearth of impact seniors on a team. Kate will be the lone player fitting that description next year, and we'll need her to play at that kind of level to continue winning the MAC.
This brings up another reason why I'd rather have a scoring 2 out there as opposed to Jazz (Again, assuming she doesn't develop a better offensive game this offseason). If we run Kate and Jazz out there together, with Golds presumably getting big minutes at 3, Kate is the only true scoring option among the 3. Opposing defenses could key on her big time, and she would need another scoring option in the backcourt to share the load. That's why I think the biggest key to next season will be the development of Prochaska and Murdaugh into quality MAC scorers. Their resumes suggest they'll be able to handle that challenge.
I live in NE Ohio and have seen Uhl, Jennings, Hooten, and Murdaugh play. From what I've seen Jennings has put up double digits for four years, and has to earn most points she gets, there are no screens or picks set for her. Not only does she have the responsibility of shutting down the best player on the other team, but she also has to do the majority of scoring for her team to win. I seen her play against Uhl last year, and she gave her fits. Jennings is a tremendous athlete and scorer. I have not seen anyone challenge Uhl as Jennings did last year. I've only seen Murdaugh play once and she is a great player. I read in the ABJ last week that Jennings scored 34, I did not see this game because the weather was bad, but from what I was told Jennings was incredible (while suffering from the flu). Apparently she threw up at half time. This is the second time I've heard that she has played a great game while being sick. This past summer in a scrimmage against Regina, she shut down Duke recruit Selby and threw up before and after this game. I did not see her throw up but did see that scrimmage and she killed this girl and had about 25 points at half time. It was so embarrasing they had to take Selby off of Jennings. I know they also scrimmaged at the beginning of the year ( didn't catch that one) but heard that Jennings dominated her again. As for Uhl she is by far the best player on the Wadsworth team but does not get much credit due to Cassie Shrock. The only thing with Uhl though is that I have not seen her be really tested except for Jennings. Hooten is another one who does not get a lot of credit for being the best player on her team. I've heard rumors of some problems there with coaching and other issue so I am not really sure what is going on, but her playing time has been very limited in some games.
Welcome to the board and thanks for the updates! Keep 'em coming. I'm uber-excited about this recruiting class. On average, these players are ranked much higher than their counterparts from the rest of Miller's recruiting classes. It'll be tough to out-do the current senior class, but these women have the credentials to continue dominating the MAC.
Wonderful posts. We have some super and developing players returning in the backcourt. I would look for incoming point Tracy Pontius to play serious minutes. She is having a super year in Illinois I am told- I have not seen her this year- and I think she will absolutely play some. With Jazz and Pontius at the point, Kate could slide over and score the 20 plus points we will likely need. Just a possibility.
I think, on the wings or two, Murdaugh and Prochaska will be factors absolutely. Murdaugh, I believe, will be a fine player here. Obviously, Prochaska can shoot. Jennings I see as another immediate contributor; relentless athlete.
Albert likely must play some up front and Uhl will be capable. Zuercher may be a more developmental player, but after she shakes off the small school matchups and learns the college game, she has the frame to play. Hooten could be a sleeper.
Taylor and Clapper must fight back from injuries and I know these two offensive minded players can join Kate, Jazz and Goldsberry as key members of the team. Breske should be healthier and Bugher a year stronger which is key for her.
This young, young team will be fun to watch and, with lower expectations, may surprise. Patience will be needed especially in those road games.
