Florida WR down to Miami (fl) and BGSU?

Scout has him at only **, but he looks like a much better prospect than that from what I can read/tell. Here is the latest scout insider blurb. Sounds like Louisville is completely out since they stopped calling him. He doesn't have an offer from Miami yet, so we may just back our way into this one. Even if we don't this looks like a good job recruiting by the staff. He was committed to a school that lost it's HC, and it looks as though we're one of only a couple teams that have stayed in contact with him.
Sure would be sweet if he wound up here!

"I'm not sure what's going on right now," Chris Summers said. "I'm just waiting on Miami to get back to me. They're waiting on some other guys."
Summers, 6-foot-5 and 185 pounds, took an official visit to Miami last weekend.
"I haven't personally talked to them since then," he said. "My coach has talked to them though. I'm waiting to see what they're gonna do."
The talented receiver said last week that he hadnt heard from Louisville in awhile. That changed a few days ago.
"I heard from them but it wasn't what I thought it was gonna be," he said. "They're pretty much out of the picture."
So with the only two schools he's taken visits to now out of the picture, what's next for the standout receiver?
"Bowling Green's still there and Illinois, Coach Disch, has been talking to my coach," he said. "I might not sign on Wednesday and see what opens up later."

Nice sized wr....
Sure could use a replacement for Ruiz. We're in desperate need for a big possession receiver. If Illinois is indeed on him , schollie and everything , I don't see him coming here.

Your 100% positive on that? If you are then cool, we stole one. There was a time when this wouldn't have surprised me , but after this latest mediocrity by us these past few years , getting even a low Big10 recruit to come here surprises me a tad. I'm just saying I think the over/under on said wr coming here is on the low side. Nonetheless I'll be plenty happy to be proven wrong no doubt.Flipper wrote:Wooldridge...the *** RB who verballed here...has an offer from Illinois. He had that offer and he verballed here anyway.

I have quit trying to understand it. Surprisingly, my headaches went away too...Flipper wrote:Wooldridge...the *** RB who verballed here...has an offer from Illinois. He had that offer and he verballed here anyway.

Why would he want to go to Illinois? We're better than them.falconboy wrote:Sure could use a replacement for Ruiz. We're in desperate need for a big possession receiver. If Illinois is indeed on him , schollie and everything , I don't see him coming here.

We beat Ohio and Ohio beat Illinois. How's that for dumb logic? Geeze....We have 1 losing season in the last 5 or whatever and all of a sudden our program is completely lost. I'm just as upset as anyone else about the disappointing last 2 seasons, but to say that we're not any better off than we were 5 years ago is completely ridiculous. Heck, in 2000 we didn't have the capabilities of even playing a night game. Go check out the Sebo cam and get back to me....Sure could use a replacement for Ruiz. We're in desperate need for a big possession receiver. If Illinois is indeed on him , schollie and everything , I don't see him coming here.

I see your Swartz is as big as mine!
He came here as a tight end that wasn't physical enough to block like, well, a tight end. Ruiz was a decent receiver with good size. But he never came across as a sure-handed option. He dropped more than his share of passes.falconboy wrote:If he wasn't then what was he?1987alum wrote:Not to pile on, but are you insinuating that Ruiz was a possession receiver?
