Yeah , I begun to realize that. The mid-major conferences that do well in either sports of football or b-ball seem to direct their resources to one sport or the other. MVC and CAA are kicking our butts in basketball and the WAC and Mountain West are kicking our butts in football.

That's exactly what we need here at BGSU
I like the layout, but the Convo Center interior didn't do much to impress me. It was a 'nice' building, but it wasn't what I'd want. The scoreboard was pretty sweet and it seemed like the structure and off-court areas were very well done, but the experience wasn't that great. Also, the halls leading to the seating areas and concessions were rather plain and uninspiring. I'm not saying Anderson is better, per se, but if we were to go all out and install a new facility, I'd hope some of these things would be more thought out.

I would like to see us build something like Redbird Arena at Illinois State University. The concourse areas are wide and roomy. The arena seats 10,000 but the upper deck can be shut off giving it a closer feel. I would like to see the seating be 8000 at the most with room to expand if needed, but I like the basic idea. EMU had a lot of potential but lacked execution in building and outfitting it. NIU is a much better put together arena. But I still like ISU best. Dang, that ISU arena looks sweet. Again these MVC teams are embarressing us in facilities and their athletics. :roll:

But you are preauming it is a new facility and that is not true. It is at least 20 years old and they have just wrapped up a fundraising campaign to renovate every inch of the space. It's not a mater of the age of the building, but how it is cared for. We have given AA the love it has needed and now we are paying for it. I think every new building we build should include an endowment dedicated to its upkeep. Dedicated funds from an endowment will free up more of the budget for other areas of the University. Lets do something big and right here!

Miller will have the chance to leave very soon just as Dakich did when he he was packed to go to West Virginia. Remember Dakich came in and set the world on fire and was a hot commodity for the next tier in D1. Leave while you can, because after the great recruiting class leaves all that is left is the facilities. If Miller stays past this year, he could be following in Dakich's footsteps. I hope not, but let's see what happens after Miller's seniors leave this year.

Not a chance with the athletes that Miller has coming in for next year. And I can only shudder to think of our potential greatness if we land Nance.

Question?????????????

Post by Red Wing Fan »

Jacobs4Heisman wrote:I'm so tired of reading excuse after excuse in all 3 men's forums this year, I could kick my cat.

Most of them, except the whole blaming the officials deal, are probably pretty valid, too. I'm just really tired of them.
Question????? Adding up all three " revenue producing " men's sports this year - - do we have a total of 20 wins????? That's adding football, basketball and hockey. Just wondered if any of you bean counters out there could enlighten me. If I had a cat - I could kick it, too!!!!!! :cat:

Miller's already turned away numerous interests from other schools. He also has a class coming in that is rated much better than any of his previous classes, including the current senior class. He's not going anywhere.

Of course, you wouldn't know any of that, because you don't follow that program. It's much easier to not know anything about the situation and just spew blind, spiteful crap anyway.

Football = 4-8
Men's Basketball = 11-11
Hockey = 5-24-2
Aggregate Total = 20-43-2

:x

Yay for Volleyball and Women's Basketball.

Honestly, Anderson Arena has been the place to be this year. Our revenue producing record outside of AA is 9-33-2! :x
