Right. Zook is having a great recruiting year. Given who he has gotten this year, I can't believe if he wanted this one, he wouldn't have gotten him. And it is in the Big Ten.
We rarely get a player who had serious Big 10 interest, and often that "interest" is tough to verify in the murky world of college recruiting. When we do, it is often evident why (Virgil Robinson, Anthony Turner), etc.
Even so, following Schad's advice, I am suspending my disbelief. I hope he's a great player for us.
Florida WR down to Miami (fl) and BGSU?

Magner and Partridge are both white and receivers, other than that I wouldn't consider them similar players.
Magner was quick but not fast. Partridge is quick and fast. Magner was known for running excellent routes, I think Partridge can do well running routes but also can break routes and read the QB: see the one handed grab at OSU. Partridge is more of a "gamebreaker" whatever that means because of his spead. Magner never returned punts, did he? Sharon and Patton did, but not Magner. I don't think of Partridge as a possession receiver in the same mold as I saw Magner and guys like Da Bears Tom Waddell.

Guys like Summers are the "fringe" recruits the MAC built its rep on. They aren't the **** and ***** recruits that everyone goes after, but they're the kids who need a bit of polish and coaching to reach that level. To be successful in the MAC you have to be able to project which kids have that ability and then you have to have the staff on hand to develop that talent.
Does Summers have a great deal of interest from Illinois? Probably not given the fact that Louisville moved off of him when they changed coaches. Does that mean they wouldn't like to sign him? Not necessarily...they may view him as a guy who might someday compete for time. We might view him as a guy who can compete for time right now and with a bit of work, be all-MAC.
Some kids want the shot at the big time... the think being in a BCS conference defines that. Others look at the chance to play right away,( I should say play on ESPN right away,) play in a bowl game and maybe be on a team that's ranked and change their definition of big time.
Like almost everyting in life...it's a matter of perspective.

What is with all the negativity? Aren't there any optimists left in the world? If we have a chance at landing a good talent, regardless of the circumstances, than I say good for us! Remember how we got Omar Jacobs? He sure sucked for us didn't he? (Please note the sarcasm!!!)

Do we have any scholarships left? It looks like Summers got hosed by Louisville's new staff.
