I think that would be better served by dismissing the head coach, not by letting all the assitants go.

All I'm going to say, is that if we had this much talent on the coaching staff, that they are ALL getting raided by bigger programs and getting these steps up, then Brandon must be miles worse as a head coach and recruiter than most thought to still cause us to decline the way we have. The optimists can't have it both ways.

I really liked Lovett, thought he was doing a good job here, and thought he had a chance to succeed Brandon with Stud gone. It's going to be hard for all the young players to grow and improve their games with a slew of new voices yelling at them.

One final note -- apparently, the only coach employed by BGSU to not receive promotion offers, is the HMIC. Gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling, don't it?

Congrats to coach Lovett. I would have taken that gig also. People do leave jobs they like and are happy with. I've done so at least twice. Is it odd that five guys moved on like they have? Yes, but it's also kind of odd that we kept the same group together for as many years as we did.

We don't know what ofers Brandon recieved or didn't recieve...

My thoughts summed up exactly.

Another Coach that High Schools don't even look at is Mike Ward. Yes, he really is still here. Trying to be first 30 year assistant coach.

So, anybody know if we signed any offensive lineman in this class?

I'm thinking we should look outside the orginization for a replacement. I don't see Ward or Hunter as coordinators (in the case of Hunter...yet)

Maybe Springer can come back?

You obviously have not seen us discuss Joe Thomas or the NFL :)

Proves nothing. Just because the "cooking and drinking" side of you can argue with the "watching women's basketball" side of you does not mean you're different people. I demand an investigation!

(And honestly, each of the 4200 "how will the Browns F-up the draft" discussions I've come across here the last three years have blurrred together. :-D )

I have a feeling Romeo Crennel is going to be available soon....

You know, Flip, it has to make you wonder if the Lovett decision didn't catch them by surprise. I mean, if you knew Springer were seriously considering going to WKU and that Lovett was in talks with UNC, would you say to Springer, "hey, be patient. Lovett's probably heading out and you're our man."

Dunno. Still, can't say I'm happy that Lovett's leaving.
Hey, look at me! I'm all over the InterWebs!

Springer? What about Durkin? Springer left several weeks ago. Durkin was much more recent. Don't you think they would have tried to talk him into staying?

I don't know if Durkin was/is ready to be a DC.

I don't either, but from a consistancy standpoint, you would think they would have done something to make him stick around in some capacity. As it stands, Ward is our only returning defensive coach.
