I've been meaning to toss this out there for a few days. So, breaking away from the Hackenberg thread...commonsense wrote:Its almost fair to say that the women's team deserves a new facility before the men just because of the recent success they've had.
If a new, larger arena is built, I wonder: Should the women continue to play at Anderson?
Ohio State's women play many of their games at St. John's Arena from what I understand, and it works for them. It's smaller, easier to fill, easier to make noisy. Anderson has all of those things going for it -- it looked and sounded great on TV last Sunday.
It would be very easy for this to be a nonstarter if people were to lock on the idea that Anderson is some kind of hand-me-down.
On the other hand, if some improvements could be made to make this a true home for our wonderful women's program -- a designer arena for women's ball...
I think Anderson would be a great long term home for the women. It is a great, intimiate building. Some say it's flawed. I say it has character.
