Miracle

Post by Rightupinthere »

I bought the DVD without seeing the movie. Hey, it's a hockey movie. It cant be bad.

It was the best sports movie I have ever seen. I loved the locker room speach just before the Soviet game. I was ready to skate tihrough a brick wall!
I can't believe this was the same Kirt Russell who stared in Escape from NY. I also can't believe the "Again" scene was real. They had those hockey players turned actors doing line drills for 3 days to get that scene.

Remind me, Ken Morrow and Mark Wells were the BG players, yes?

Morrow and Wells definitely are Falcons...would have been nice if the movie had stated that!

Yeah, they seemed to plug several other schools a lot, no love for the school that put up 2 members of that team? Especially as key of a role that Ken played.

I was also hoping BG would get a mention in the movie (obviously), but I think the only reason the other schools got played up so much is because there really was a hatred between the "western" kids and the "eastern" kids. there's a story behind it somewhere, but for some reason, Boston kids hated Minnesota kids and vice versa. I too bought the movie sight unseen and loved it, and I think they explain part of the "rivalry" in the movie, but can't remember it now.

I guess we'll have to continue to mention "Paper Lion" with pride, huh? :D

Wasn't it the 1976 frozen four semi's when MN beat BU 4-2? I'm not sure.
