I agree. More emphasis on the run to set up the pass. Bullock should just keep getting better, so lets take advantage of that....maybe even get out of the shotgun once in a while so he can actually get momentum towards the line of scrimmage.
what i do know is that we don't have a qb that's going to throw for 4000+ yards like omar and we don't have one with the skill set to be the type of duel threat that harris was. lets play to our strengths, boys.

AT has more athletic ability than Josh dd. He has better wheels than Omar and a better arm than Josh. If AT continues to improve at the same pace he did in the last three games, we'll be fine at QB.
The problem last year wasn't with the run/pass mix...the problem was the insistence on running the same damn plays time and time again. We need to set that QB draw aside for a few years....everyone knows what that play looks like now.

BUT, as ive said before if brandon can stop using urban's playbook and write a new one that involves a heavy dose of running maybe we've got a chance. we have alot of talent there and nobody came down from a mountain with a stone tablet that said 'thou shalt be a passing school'
How do you figure that losing Charles Brown would solve our QB headaches? Or are you confusing him with NATE Brown, the QB from Pa., who has yet to commit if I recall correctly?

Brown is going to decide between BG and UCONN. He doesn't have an offer from UCONN yet, but believes it is coming because they keep telling him they want him to come and play at UCONN. I wouldn't be surprised to see him at BG next year. Looks like Buffalo is out of the picture.Class of 61 wrote:Jeebus, jeebus wrote:urgh. losing brown sucks...i was hoping he'd solve our qb headaches. RF is referring to NATE Brown also (thanks RF).
Check out the Detroit Free Press tommorrow kids....I'm ssure I'll (or somebody) will post the link for Mick McCabe's Fab 50. MIck does a stellar job covering prep sports in Michigan. His top fitty list for Michigan alwasy has a verbal or tow to BGSU that none of us snoofed out yet.v

Just thought I'd clear something up, in case anyone was wondering....
A week or so ago I posed the question about Ore Fatinikun from Perrysburg. Someone suggested that he had academic problems that would prevent him from playing DI ball.
I talked to a friend from high school, and it turns out this is the case.
Just wanted to resolve things by answering my own question.

The departure of soooooo many coaches didn't help. I guess they all saw the hand-writing on the wall. Too bad.
And the Blade knows all. LOL! I don't trust any of those recruiting services either. Everyone knows they slant their stuff to the BCS>
Here's something else....Terry Pluto of the Akron Beacon Journal was on the front page of the sports page this week saying how OSU's 19th rated class was nothing to get alarmed by. He was saying not to take the recruiting services seriously. But, he'll be the first to say how Akron has the BEST class in the MAC for the 3rd year in a row. I know they are selling newspapers in Akron but you can't have it both ways. When he writes that article, I'll be the first to call him out. If Akron has had the best class for 3 years straight, why are they going in the opposite direction? 5-7 last year? With a SR and veteran heavy team? Hmmm.....
From the looks of this class, it appears we have some very athletic kids coming in. I'll reserve judgement until I see them on the field. These kids are 17-18 years old...

Man...we're in BAD shape if a guy named "Freak" is the voice of reason.
The Blade story Dr reality is talking about is a single paragraph from Hackenburg's column today. He's giving us a rundown on the Rival's ratings. I don't really put too much stock in that
There's no denying that we missed on some kids...we missed n a couple in FL (direct quote from Brandon) to WMU and we lost on a few here in Ohio (a couple to Miami).
This is the 4th class I've actually had a chance to see tape on and hear the coach's comments about them. The first two years...there were a few kids that you had to wonder "why did we sign him?".
I haven't really had that feeling the last two years.
Coach Brandon made and interesting point about the CMU game, particulalry on special teams. He said the lack of speed we had was pretty evident in that game and it was really evident on special teams. Just a hunch...but I think he might be recrutiing some of these 210lbish guys the opast couple of years thinking they be ballhawks on special teams coverag.
