Our depth chart

Post by Globetrotter »

I was curious about where the recruits will fit in and wanted to look at them in the whole scheme of things. First I wanted to be sure I had a good idea about who would be playing where. Have any of these guys switched positions or left the team? We are losing 2 WR's and 2 G's so I put in there place the guys I thought would likely start. Any other ideas about who will or won't start. On D we are losing 2 DL and a LB

Williamson, Fredricks, and Mahoney have all transferred. It's a little early to try to accurately speculate on where any of the new guys will fit in at this point, but I can see how it would be fun to try and guess. I think your list of first stringers looks about right on. I could see Watson really pushing for one of the starting guard spots. I don't really see any glaring holes based on that chart, so we could probably afford to redshirt most of the new guys. I'm guessing Ransom will get alot of PT along with Bullock.

I know this would be a little unusual and probably won't happen, but I actually wouldn't mind seeing Sheehan redshirt this year. If Glaud is the capable backup or even possible starter that alot of people think he will be, why not play him and Turner and only play Sheehan in an emergency? The other side of that story is that it's not really necessary to redshirt him when Glaud and Brown will still be here after he leaves.

One thing I think you can pretty much count on is that both incoming kickers will be starting.

If you feel compelled to put something in, you could put the new K and P onto the depth chart as starters.

I think Toresso will push guys in the fall at NG. Branch looks like a guy that could push for time as an edge rushing DE and maybe get some duty on special teams. I think Jerrson Davis will push Hargrove hard for time at LB. Ransom gets some touches behind Bullock and a few in the slot as a reciver. The prep school db Smith seems like a guy who could make some noise in the defensive backfield early on.

There was a rumor here to the effect that Thomas James had left school and another indicating that Bobby Thomas had returned. If Thomas is back, we have INSANE depth at RB.

Well, we wouldn't. You have somebody on this thread who appears to know something about what is going on, but the team doesn't update its depth chart in the offseason very much. They often don't acknowledge players leaving, either. In fact, the official roster still has Rojas and Ellis on it. I think they put together an updated depth chart with the spring prospectus.

Is there any word on Bobby Thomas? Will he be able to return? I liked what I saw from him, and I hope that we can get him back on the roster. It would be a shame to see a guy like him not return to the team.

Just wondering.
