That is not an accurate statement. We had a snow day back in 91 or 92. It was only seven inches of snow, but there was not plowing.

We also had one back in 03 or 04.

Also the first day of class was canceled Winter Semester 1999, largely because they didn't think enough students were going to get back to campus in time.
I had already moved back into Darrow since I was working at the Rec. My wife was the RA on the floor. That was a fun couple of snow days.

We had a snow day late March or early April 1981 or 82. We came back from Spring Break and got hit with a heck of a snowstorm. I remember 6 foot drifts at the front doors of University Hall.

Falcon Fanatic and Flipper might be able to confirm the date.

Wow! No one told me about any of those days... I just heard about the one in '78. I learn something new every day apparently. :-D

Had one in 92/93, too.. there was a bunch of snow, but I think they finally cancelled because of windchills.

If I remember, it was one of the tamer cold weather days in my time at BG, but the only time they cancelled.

That would be 'ones'. BG was closed for several days during the blizzard of 78. All of the water pipes were frozen. We melted water for bathing, flushing the toilets, etc. We had it better than most, however, because we never lost electricity or heat since the campus has its own power station.

Then, of course, there were all the snow days that my instructors declared for themselves. Would have been nice to get a heads up on some of those.
