While this is unbelievably frustrating from all kinds of crazy levels... can we all simmer down a little, please?

I'm about as stunned with the way we lost this game (without knowing all the exact details) as I was in the stands of the Doyt as a student watching a fat punter from CMU score a TD. WTF?!?!

If we grabbed the ball before the shot clock violation went off then the game clock could run out. Apparently, that was a possibility. What a cluster f***.
I don't think we grabbed the rebound cleanly. I'm not sure that matters anyways. Once the shot clock goes off, isn't the play automatically dead no matter who gets the rebound? Not sure.

On the UB video feed, the clock said 0:00, the horn went off, and the refs waved their arms to indicate the end of the game. Given all of that, however, it was absolutely the most childish thing that I have ever seen for our team to stay in the locker room. All we had to do was walk back out there, throw an in-bounds pass, and walk back with a legit W. Now we head back to BG in miserable conditions with the most embarassing loss that I have ever seen. Just when you think you've seen it all.....

Here is what Coach Dakich said when he did the same thing against Virgina Tech:

"I was out of here as soon as I saw the one short guy said good. I got out of here as fast as I could, you know, let's go with it. I like Coach Greenberg, I'm going to go see how he's doing afterward, but the heck with that, I'm getting out of here. Make them drag us back out but we weren't coming, we were going to keep it just the way it was. What a ballgame!"

OMG...I simply cannot believe what happened tonight. When it rains....

1-10 in our last 11 games. 3-20 in our last 23 MAC games. I'm sorry. A change must be made. BG is rock bottom in the MAC>

i'm just curious to why any of you would argue a technical isn't deserved in that case. I'd have Dakich fired by phone on the bus ride home after acting like that.

This could make ESPN. I expect to see headlines for this on the sports sites.

I've NEVER seen us lose one like this before.

exactly...shot clock violation means a dead ball. doesn't matter about any rebounds after the fact, the clock stops. and like I said before, its impossible for a game to end on a shot clock violation!

We don't know if it was Dakich or what it was. Maybe it was player mutiny. Wouldn't a ref knocked on the locker room door to let us know that there was still time on the clock? If so, what happened then? If not, we simply might not have known what was going on. The latter is hard to believe, though.

The only thing that I DO know is that there was a LARGE amount of STUPIDITY involved.

I feel REALLY, REALLY bad for our players right now. As is things weren't bad enough for them this season, now this? I can't think of a tougher way to have a win snatched right out of your hands than this.

Screw you! Exit the site tonight! This is the end of the line. DD is as pissed as I've ever heard! He said they were cheated! He is going off on the radio, as I typed. Has Nate Miller and Lefled by his side, says the ref said the game is over, Miller and Lefled confirm. DD takes full blame for the lose but says his team is getting better. I can't believe it! The MAC should review this.

As I said in the chatroom this is pretty similar, IMO, to PI on a hail mary late. I think it was probably the right call based on the rules, but it was not in the spirit of the rules...let the players decide the outcome, etc.

If an official told Dan the game was over that sucks, but that official should be in trouble, because it was obvious to us listening that there should still be time on the clock. A game cannot end on a shot clock violation.
