Why?

I don't mean that snidely; it's a serious question.

It's unanimous, then.

Brown jerseys, white pants, for ever more.

I don't care if we wear potato sacks with spray painted numbers, as long as we win football games. :D

It was just reported in the BGNews yesterday that there will be NO uniform changes this year. The report was based on an interview with the assistant AD about the school's new athletic logos. The article also confirmed that the traditional logo is as good as gone aside from the football helmets. They are planning to ave the traditional logo completely phased out of all the bookstores and school stores by next year.

Meaning the traditional logo from the 70s will be gone or the new traditional athletic logo from three years ago?

Now I don't mind the New Traditional Logo at all, in fact its better than the Old Traditional Logo with its bolder profile, but I don't want us getting rid of the Traditional for the New Retail Logo only. I still dont' think I would like the New Retail Logo on our helmets. Some version of the New Traditional Logo would be fine.

Sounds like both to me.

BG News article

55 years of the "LT" Falcon? Is that right? If so, that's a lot more tradition than I figured getting apparently tossed aside. :(

If I were one of these decision makers, I'd buy a bullet-proof vest and watch out for guys in drag.

We knew once the Space Ghost logo appeared that the beloved "LT" logo would soon be phased out. How sad. Guess it's time to buy up as much "LT" logoed merchandise as possible.

This is crap, and a cheap cop out. There is no reason why they can't have more than one logo and or variation of the falcon head. I like them both, but I dislike the interlocking BG and even more so I despise the interlocking BG and the peak-a-boo spaceghost. I love the font package, for the record.

It sounds as though all versions of the traditional logo will be done away with soon. Next year may be the last year for our current helmet scheme. I don't mind the new logo, but I see absolutely no reason to change our helmets. One of the reasons smaller schools like BG can't get any serious recognition amongst NCAA football fans is that we constantly changing things up. How many big time football schools do you see with new logos and unis every other year. Its time to get some consistency. One of the few consistent thing over the last 20 (? not sure how long the current logo has actually been used on the helmets) years or so has been our helmets. how is anybody supposed to recognize us if we show up with a different look every year? If/when the switch is made, I hope it is for good and it doesn't change for a very long time. At least that way maybe we'll start being recognized wherever we go.

You got it right on the nose '87. Time for us all to get out to Lids and buy up all the traditional hats we can find cause they will soon be a rarity.
