Wow, great news for Beckman. As someone who hammered him in the past, I have to say he's shown his mettle.

Good for him. That's quite an accomplishment, and I hope he does well. In the meantime, it seems like some people here thought he couldn't coach at all when he was a Falcon.

He's got a great situation there at OSU. They're building some of the nicest facilities in the nation and a state that really supports their football. His only real hurdle (which is a pretty big hurdle) is Stoops and OU. If he sharpens his teeth a little bit, he could easily have a head coaching job in 5 years.

I agree.

It's just a shame he had to leave every Ohio boy's dream job.

I wonder if Urban Meyer and Jim Tressel had any input into this decision with OK State? I wouldn't be surprised if they both made a nice recomendation for him.

........and at $300,000 per year it is a REALLY nice opportunity!! :D

Now maybe some people will understand why we have trouble getting a D-1 asst coach to come to BG in any capacity!

That's rediculous. What is wrong with the coaching staff at Ohio State...All these coaches leaving for better opportunities...

Fire Tressel!

I just hope OSU knows what they're getting with Coach Beckman. They obviously did not go back into the archives on this site to find out just how bad a DC Beckman was.

Congratulations Coach Beckman!
