You're not actually disagreeing with anybody. DD broke the rules, and rules should be enforced. It's the Journey... wrote:So I will upset the applecart here. I think the reprimand was warranted. Everyone knows you cannot PUBLICALLY berate the officials. Everyone knows what happens if you do. With the language used, he is lucky he didn't get suspended for a game. There are ways of expressing dissapointment without being obvious, Dan just doesn't ever seem to do that. When he made those comments he made his bed. Now he is lying in it. What I do have a problem with is the AD not making a public statement of support for the players and of dissapointment of the situation. It is possible to support the team and admonish the coach, and it is more than appropriate in this situation. As far as the MAC is concerned, both the office/commisioner and officials can screw off. I would love to see our entire home crowd "boo" the officials each and every time they make a call regaurdless of which team the call is against as a protest. I believe Dan is on his way out, but I hope he is able to leave with the high level of class he came in with.
The issues in this thread are (a) Christopher's obsequious, thimbledicked, unsupported response, (b) Chryst's one-sided response and questionable interpretation of events, and (c) the overall state of MAC officiating.
