Many witty retorts thus far...I'm almost ashamed to think that the first answer that came to my mind was...Riflearm33 wrote:Who picked your school colors?

Ziggy, good advice, but I think they are still trying to figure out just who that is!

The former tour guide in me MUST give the correct answer:
From:http://www.1122productions.com/tradition/colors/
Bowling Green: orange, brown
From Bowling Green's athletics site: The historical story behind how BGSU began using Brown and Orange as its school colors dates back to 1914.
Dr. Williams, the university's first President, gathered a group of people which included a Dr. L.L.Winslow from Industrial Arts as a selection committee for the school's new colors. While on an interurban (or trolley) ride to Toledo, Dr. Winslow sat behind a woman wearing a large hat adorned with beautiful brown and orange feathers. It is unclear whether or not she ever actually gave him a few of these feathers from her hat, however, he was so interested in the color scheme of the pair that he convinced the committee to approve the combination of Brown and Orange.

Freddie, you put that in english, they are going to have a hard time understanding it. Here, let me summarize...
Some doctor saw a chick wearin' a hat. colors were good.

FormerFreddie, thank you. I was just about to throw up that link to the athletic site. I hate telling that story to people who ask: "Why aren't you guys green? I mean, you are Bowling Green?" I'm always amazed.
It is a complicated story, and one that has some pretty deep and extremely unique meaning to our school. Part of me can't help but envy Marshall fans who simply have to say: "Uhh...some guy saw grass and said 'I have an idea!'"
Don't ever mess with orange and brown you simpleton, sophomoric twit...

Did you hear about the guy who was giving a presentation to a group of folks from West Virginia? He asked the group, "how many of you have ever seen a ghost ?" 4 people raised their hands. He then asked, "how many of you have ever talked to a ghost? two people raise their hands. He then asked, "how many of you have ever had sex with a ghost?" One guy raises his hand. The presenter says, "you have had sex with a ghost?" The West Virginian says, "ghost, I thought you said GOAT!!"
