our very own McConvey is still attempting to freeze the swimming pool so that the One True Sport can be brought to the Squirrel Road Grizzlies.

Naw... cant freeze the pool yet. We have at least one kid going to the NCAA's, possibly two more. They'll need the pool to practice for another month.
And in other news from Squirrel Rd., our women's basketball team has won 12 straight games and will be going somewhere beyond our league tournament. 12 games is the team's longest winning streak since joining DI... it must be the newest member of the staff!

There's a funny story actually about why OU doesn't have a hockey team.
A couple years ago a very wealthy woman donated a lot of land to the athletic department with the stipulation that it would be used to add another sports team. However, she had one exception to this: it had to be used for a non-contact sport. This eliminated both varsity hockey and football from the running. I'm not sure if anything came from the donation, but to this day OU does not have a football or varsity hockey team.
OU's swimming and diving has always been very strong, so it doesn't surprise me they're doing well in that sport.
