Oak Harbor kid to play for BG next year
I heard a rumor in the gym today that a kid from Oak Harbor got a scholarship from BG to play football next fall. This is the first that I have heard of this, and after checking the boards and BG athletics site I have not found anything to back this up. Have any of you heard anything about this?

I looked him up on Max preps.com and they had him listed as playing both RB and LB he is 5-10 215. No speed was given and my guess would be he prob a perferred walk-on with a chance to earn one later on if he works hard. He will also be listed on the roster as a Lb as well once he comes here in the late summer.

MACMAN
Matt Bloomer is one of those kids, who could develop but right now is a bit of project...a typical MAC kid...
@ 5'10 or 5' 11" and anywhere from 205- 220lbs depending on who's reports you read hes a load. He is a fundamentally sound N-S runner, low CG and he keeps his big hams pumping and rarely went down on first or second contact. he has again depending on the reports mind you fair spped in the high 4's one report had him slow at over 5...but again he is a between the tackles runner and hes strong. He caught many passes in the flats and was a beast to tackle in the open, but with out break away speed was always rounded up.
My nephew played in Port Clinton ( you want to talk about a program that is a mess..whew) when PC was totally destroyed by Oak Harbor they had their hands full...with most of the guys on that Oakharbor team...but PC is (0-10) win for everyone anymore so that does not say much for Pc but this kid can go either way, depending on how hes coached and how we decied to use him...it would have been nice to have him against Miami...I think he would be a fine mudder...maybe that is why got...maybe caoch knows something about future BG weather.

You mean Jake Fanning didn't totally resurrect the Lakers athletic fortunes?FalconFanatic wrote:Thanks MACman... I went to Danbury, our entire highschool athletics program is a mess.... Oh well I am just glad that I graduated when I did... Anyway who is your nephew? I might know him, or know of him...
I agree that BG might be missing out on some great athetes from some of the North central, NorthWest Ohio schools. I sent some information on a few kids towards Coach Brandon, who e-mailed me back that he was in turn passing that along to the guy who handles recruting for this part of the state.
