BG baseball takes series with MTSU, wins game three

Post by BGSU33 »

Good way to start off the season. We won the series 2-1. Any time you can win a series, especially on the road, I'll take it any time. It was especially nice to see because this was our first outing of the season while MTSU already had several games under its belt and was playing at home.
GO BG!!!

Solid start for the baseball team! I doubt this game Tuesday at Dayton gets played due to the weather but ya never know.

If they don't play Dayton, next up is the annual trip to Bradenton, Fla. starting 3/3 and running thru 3/10.

Factman, when do you leave? My dad is planning on getting to a game or two and has your cell. Have fun, bro!

Freak, you are all over me!! I just got back from Murfreesboro about 5 hrs ago! Anyway, I'm going down Friday morning and watching the Indians play Philly on Friday, and will hook up with everyone in Bradenton Friday evening. The guys had a very nice weekend, and Kurt Wells had a MONSTER weekend, as he had a grand slam HR yesterday to add to his weekend. Adam Gumpf pitched "lights out" yesterday, throwing four gooseeggs on the board, in what looked like it was going to be a runfest!
Dayton definitely looks like it will NOT be played, because when we came by their field last night on the way home it is still covered with snow.
In a whole other vein, MTSU (Middle Tennessee) is about to put $5-7 million MORE into their baseball facility, and they already have indoor cages, a LOCKER ROOM (imagine that) and coaches offices in a new building right next to the field. They are building a new stadium etc now. Their football stadium is VERY NICE as well as their basketball arena. I talked to Artie Pepela(DD's old asst), and he said their president is a HUGE supporter of the athletic program and is getting alot of this done. Artie got about a $25-30,000 raise to go to MTSU!!! They raised the $6 million for the new baseball stadium in 8 MONTHS!
We can only hope!!! I think they would be a GREAT addition to the MAC or maybe we should just go to the Sunbelt!
