This is copied from another board. Leads one to speculate whether Chryst was directly responsible for us losing the home game with Navy so that we'd be available to play this one? Perhaps we should take solace that other MAC schools are getting yanked around as well. This whole thing seems inappropriate.
"Here's what went down according to two separate sources in Lansing:
Chryst is looking to spread out the 'big-money' games for MAC teams. He approached MSU and asked them if they would be willing to swap WMU for BG. In return, MSU will play WMU in either 09 or 2010. MSU agreed to the deal as long as they get WMU in either of those years. Apparently, WMU had little say in the whole process."

SDFalcon: My only question on this would then be...if he's trying to "spread out" the big money games, why give ANOTHER one to us? (I'm assuming we'd consider the Minny game as one, though it might not be as large due to alleged "return visit" in '08.) In the meantime, we lose an attractive home OOC opponent that would help our home attendance.San Diego Falcon wrote:This is copied from another board. Most of this speculation would go away if the A/Ds and MAC office would provide some specific insight on what exactly they're trying to do and why.
We're traveling to Boise for the spring game to complete a 2-for-0 deal.
