OT LOSS 3-2

Post by bulldog85 »

Bowling Green 7-28-2, I feel sorry for the guy's travelling all that way in cra**y weather only to be beaten. Paluch remains on target to be the worst in the history of BGSU hockey.
We allowed them 41 shots on Spratt! Do we have a defense at all? Poor guy, I hope he was one of the stars.
All in all, without him we are sh*t.

maybe spratt can coach the team next year. He has been the only positive note in Falcon as of late.

Just got done talking with Spratter, had some funny comments.

He called the trip to Omaha a "gong show". Said it was ridiculous but I guess the team felt they could get there on time so they went at it and made it.

Just some thoughts from the horses mouth.

What a positive thread after the 12 seed pushes the 5 seed to overtime...even after not knowing whether or not the game was going to be played until they actually got to the arena

It's tournament time...moral victories don't matter...

You do remember we are the worst team in falcon history, if you can enjoy a 3-2 loss then it is obvious that the rest of the league has us right where they want us.

At this point there really is no point getting mad at Paluch or getting mad at the team for these losses. Most of us realize by now, that this is simply a team that is overmatched in many different ways. Jimmy's play is the most notable exception.

Hell. I'm happy the team (or at least Spratt) gave UNO a decent battle last night. I hope they give them another good run tonight. When the season ends, it will be time for the brass to make their move.

All I'm trying to say is this team could very easily have gotten off the bus and said F-it nobody is gonna care if we win. They didn't. Even though they were pretty much dominated the whole game, they still managed overtime. It could have been worse. A lot worse. I know of some (past) teams that had better records that would have been completely blown out and used the travel problems as an excuse.

I agree with you pdt, even if everyone else doesn't. I am proud of the fight the guys put up. And NO, I'm not happy with the loss. Those are TWO VERY DIFFERENT THINGS people!!!! Geez....
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

The subtext to this thread is much as many here are, half are simply wanting to talk raw results, half talk as if every word is read by the team and thus, they rah rah all day.

I'm glad they didn't give up. I wish they weren't so bad anyway. There, I played both sides of the issue.

Regardless of how they go down, this team isn't very good. The kids are good people, the coaches are good people. The rest isn't so good. I'd expect an honest effort just because that is part of playing the game. They teach that from the first time you get into school. No extra bonus points should be awarded for that.

I'm just glad the sports season is mercifully over in all major sports.

this post is kinda funny to me, it reminds of the movie, "meet the fockers" where there is the wall of gaylord and denero says "i've never seen people celebrate mediocracy like this"
