Pooch,

If you are interested in:

- what is best for Falcon Hockey
- seeing the program climb back to the top
- winning seasons
- playoff victories
- league championships
- NCAA Tournament appearances
- National Championships

Then RESIGN! Do everyone a favor, and step down. Let someone else take the reigns, and see what they can do. Go back to BC, and be an assistant under York.

Very perceptive Cincy, nice attention to detail. However, I said, "I think that Scott Paluch is posting on this board under the name pdt1081."

I wouldn't resign if I were pooch. He's the head coach of a CCHA hockey team. Nobody near this level would take him at this point. It would be criminally stupid to resign.

I want Brandon to resign too, but it's just not reasonable to think it's going to happen, unless it's forced from above.

As bad of a job Brandon did last year, he's nowhere near as bad a coach as Paluch. Gregg Brandon never led the football team to a losing season prior to 06. Gregg Brandon never finished last in the conference. Gregg Brandon has 3 winning seasons under his belt in 4 years, Paluch has 0 winning seasons in 5 years. I'm sorry, but no winning seasons in 5 years is just downright horrible.

Unless you're comparing the two based solely on the last 12 months, saying that Brandon is just as bad or worse than Paluch is laughable.

Some people around here need to learn to actually read things before they respond. Nobody has said Brandon's performed as badly as Pooch has -- I didn't come anywhere near insinuating such a thing. I said I wanted him to resign just like I wouldn't mind if Pooch did.

Brandon has been very bad, and Pooch has been worse. I don't think there's anything we can do about either situation except grin and bear it, and hope for the best.

Paluch will not resign.

Post by bulldog85 »

As someone has already said Paluch will not resign. Even with his history making poor record he remains a DI Head Coach. The assistant coaches are in their first year of college coaching and will not likely fill the position if Paluch were to resign. With that said, a complete overhaul is all that will help.
One hears of so much corruption behind the scenes it's hard to believe anyone is in charge.
One hears of players equipment being withheld and ostensibly being traded for cash, of a players family sponsoring coaches holidays (an ethical no, no) and of course the much talked about uneven handedness when disciplining players. I'm afraid once the rot has set in there is little that can be done by player or fan alike.
The AD is about the only one who can resolve the issue and he is in his first year at the school. The status quo will remain, and BGSU will be the most undesirable place to attend by any aspiring student/athlete.

i guess next season when the team finishes in the top will set another record. Man I am looking forward to that. Its going to be awesome. i bet we sell out the ice house for 2/3 of our games, and man then the playoffs.

Time to buy some cow bells and bring back the real noise of the 70's and show the guys just how loud we can be!

We are going to kick ass...Thanks for toughing it Scott!

Health concerns (excuses) aside, what on earth makes you think the team is going to win the CCHA next year. OK, I suppose Spratt could continue playing lights out, but what about the players in front of him. What is going to change?

I'm really trying to be fair here, but I'd like to know these answers too. I understand that goaltender is the most important position in hockey by far, and it seems that we are pretty well set at that position going into next season, but yeah, what about the forwards and defensemen? Seems like we're okay at defense, but how about scoring? Are we bringing in any kick-butt scorers? We need to score to win games.

Those are some pretty serious accusations.... Other then a LOT of complaining about coaching decisions and coaching style, no has ever hinted at anything like this. I'm sorry, but I just have a hard time believing that kind of stuff is happening, and I'm not talking about the disciplining of players.....

Common Knowledge...

Post by FalconBlue »

Falcon Fanatic, some of which Bulldog85 say's is common knowledge to the team. Doug Schueller has an expences paid vacation with the Svendsen family as we speak. Common knowledge on the team. One can only speculate as to why Doug put's himself in this position.

Equipment has alway's been a problem (there are many posts referring to this issue) and the reasons or motives involved are many.

Where have you been?

Every so often, I wonder why I don't spend some time reading the hockey forum. Then I take a moment to read a brain-draining thread like this one and am reminded why I don't spend some time reading the hockey forum.
