Well he did also guarantee the women's would finish the regular season undefeated in the MAC.

Thanks for being a buzz kill though
I love how you convieniently forgot how I said hockey would lose in two straight, while everybody else was saying we would win. You and others always have to go back to my failings to discredit me. Fine, be that way, I'm willing to take that because I'm one of the few posters on this message board to stick my neck out there. I say things based on the way I percieve them to be true, not through some orange-colored glasses or some politically correct s**t. Women's basketball, I said they'd go undefeated. Unfortunately, because OU played a nearly perfect game against us, that did not come to fruition. I am sure that I was not the only one who thought we would go undefeated, but I WAS the only person to put myself on the line for it.

However, if you are implying that by me being wrong about that, that our men's team will beat OU because I say it won't happen, that's a slippery slope that's not worth traveling my friend.

Let's face facts. We went 3-13 in the MAC. OU killed us both times we played them this season, including a 20+ point drubbing in Anderson (a game I was VERY glad to have not attended BTW). They have more talent than us and better coaching. They've been a premier program in the MAC for several years now, while we haven't done jack. When it comes down to it, we only have 1 or 2 players (Miller, and maybe Samarco) that are comparable to anybody on OU's starting five. Anybody looking to dispute any of this is simply in denial.

Really, I don't see any reason that this will be any different from hockey. We went to Omaha and got swept, just as we were supposed to. The results will be no different here. Remember back to last year when we played Toledo in the 1st round? 77-52 loss? What makes you guys objectively think this game will be any different? You can't hide from history, as the hockey team found out this weekend with their 5th straight sweep out of the playoffs under Scott Paluch. (Words cannot comprehend just how pathetic that is.)

And I don't want to hear anything about how I'm stomping all over any of your faith and hope because that's a load of bullshit. If you think we're gonna win, more power to you. I'm just going to warn you not to get your hopes up. At this point, like the hockey series, I'm not going to say anything more on this issue until the game happens, so as not to spread my "awful and horrible negativity" any further. Final thought: OU wins, and not only do we lose, we lose big.

If we don't get hosed at Buffalo, we probably be playing Central Michigan or Western Michigan in the first round. We'd have a better chance of winning a game in the first round.

Then again we get Akron or Kent in the second round instead of Miami.

That's probably the biggest reason why I'm so pissed about the matchup. If we don't get absolutely screwed out of a victory against Buffalo, we play against Miami instead of Ohio. We probably win that game. Instead we get put into a near impossible matchup because of that clusterfuck of a game.

I think OU is going to be very tough. But...c'mon...we just won a nice game on Senior Night/Day. It was good to see this team play well, maybe the best I've seen the offense run all year.

It's interesting because Marschall is injured, and because of that Dakich was forced to play big OTIS for a good portion of the game against JCrewU.
Anyone that was there saw what a force Otis was on the defensive end. I was hoping he would start the Dikembe Mutombo finger wave.

If we want ANY chance at winning this game, we need solid PG play from Hamblet like we did against Miami(OH). And it time to UNLEASH THE BEAST that is Otis Polk.

It's amazing, because when you see Hamblet play well like he did yesterday, or anyone else for that matter, it frees Samarco up to take shots that are more in the flow of the offense. And that's when we can compete with these teams.

Time to stop the rambling,

We'll see what happens

Big props to Nate Miller...he had a nice run offensively in the middle portion of the game, but when Samarco and Hamblet really heated up, the offense wasn't getting him too many opportunities.

It's not unusual to see a guy in that situation force offense when he gets the ball. Nate didn't do that, if the shot wasn't there he moved the ball and the result was usually an open shot for someone else.

I was also impressed by the defensive efforts of Moten and Clements. This team has some talent. I think we could be a 10-6 or 9-7 kind of team next year...I really do.

GO FALCONS!!!! Nothing to lose, everything to gain. When you're the #12 seed, everyone else is a better team. Screw up OU's tourney hopes.

BTW, congrats to UT for winning the MAC title. It's ironic how Stan the Man was on his way out halfway thru the year last year and now sits on top. I hate UT but give credit to them for the title.

Something OU fans are quite aware of these days... The Bobcats can beat or lose to any team. Also no lead or deficit is safe against them.

I sure am hoping for a nice 20-point opening round win, but if Ohio brings their D+ effort like they all too often have this season, you will beat us.

DD said that as we get close to the tourney that the bench would get smaller. With Marshall out I agree with Lefield, Polk and Larson getting a lot playing time. The majority of minutes should go to Polk but foul trouble might dictate otherwise. Miller and Samarco should play 40 minuets each. Hamblet the way he has been playing as should be on the floor a lot.

Here is where I have the problem on the “reduced bench”
.
First…Dusan. The worst basketball player I have seen in a long time. Correction…ever
In Conf: 23% from the floor, 15% 3Pt, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 8 Turnovers in 171 minutes of play. These are TOTAL numbers for 16 games. The guy is listed at 6’7” and he has 13 RB’s. Plus he doesn’t box out or play defense at all. IMHO he brings absolutely nothing to the game. The only thing he does do well is kiss DD’s azz.
Clements: 43% from the floor (not bad), 18% 3pt, 23 rebounds 19 assists but 33 TO’s in 226 minutes. His defense is also very suspect.

The players that DD has left on the bench.
Sims 40% from the floor, 37% from 3PT, 18 rebounds, 14 assists and 18 TO’s in 165 minutes of play. His defense might be a little weak too.
Guerin 62% from the floor, 60% from 3PT range, 18 rebounds, 30 assists and 11TO’s in 164 minutes of play.
Against OU we have had 36 TO’s. Guerin who has played 42 total minutes handling the ball vs. OU has 3 of them. He is also has 11 points and 6 rebounds. Where Dusan and Clements have 7 TO’s, 5 total points, and 6 rebounds in 43 minutes.

With Hamblet shooting the lights out and Samarco’s ability to hit everything he puts up. It would be nice to have some guys on the floor that will not turn it over, get the ball to our scores, which includes Miller, and can hit an open shot. Dusan and Clements are not the guys I would choose. Just my opinion!

It could have been much longer, given he didn't go into discussion as to how he said it was impossible for BG to lose to Temple in FB.
