Well, as I've seen mentioned eslewhere, the NIU vs. EMU game is probably the most important MAC game BG is not playing in in years. Its on Nov. 20 in Ypsilanti, which is less than an hour from our dear Bowling Green. I'm rounding up as many people as I can to make the trip up there and cheer on the EMU's so that our hopes of a MAC West title are still alive on Nov. 23 when we make the trip up north.
Our boys deserve this title, and its up to us to go and support the Eagles against NIU just as Miami fans are supporting us against Marshall.
1:00 kickoff. Perhaps we can get a tailgate event together...?

I would love to make the trip to Ypsi to root on the Hurons. But unfortunately, my father-in-law has tickets to the OSU-UM game and has invited my son and I to go with him. Hmm, OSU-UM or EMU-NIU? Honestly, I would rather watch and am more interested in the MAC game but can't say no to OSU-UM tickets.

Re: Directions to Ypsilanti!
Although I agree this is a very talented, deserving, quality football team, if they truelly deserved the title they would have taken care of business in Dekalb. I would go so far as to saying that this year's team is more dangerous than last year's team, but again if you are talkingabout something that is rightfully ours, as in MACC or bowl game, the guys could have controlled their own fate by winning at NIU.Bleeding Orange wrote:Our boys deserve this title,

I couldn't agree more Dayons. In fact I would go so far as to say we DON'T deserve this title. When you need a team that beat you to lose their final 2 games in order to win the title, I'd say we don't deserve it. Do I think we're the best team in the MAC? Yep, but we didn't take care of business when we had the shot, and we don't deserve the MAC title.Dayons_Den wrote:Although I agree this is a very talented, deserving, quality football team, if they truelly deserved the title they would have taken care of business in Dekalb. The good thing is we now have the capability firmly in our hands to ensure that UT doesn't win the title! We win they don't. If we beat UT the NIU-EMU game is irrelevant, either way UT won't be in the MACC game! Of course beating UT at home is easier said than done.
We will know where we stand before we play the game. NIU-EMU is on Sat, the 20th and we play at UT on Tues the 23rd. An EMU win there (and a BG win this Saturday over Marshall 8) ) and the BG-UT will decide the West champion. Of course, we could lose to Marshall, EMU beat NIU and then we beat UT and then we would have the dreaded three-way tie scenario again. Four way tie actually if EMU wins at Kent this weekend. My head is spinning just thinking about the possibilities. :-\ How about Eastern vs Akron in the title game!?!?

Why would any BG fan wear anything but orange? That was just a stupid questionbgbrandon wrote:THE REAL QUESTION FOR YOU PEOPLE GOING IS...Will you be wearing GREEN or ORANGE?? I think it would be hilarious to see EMU fans in green, NIU fans in Red and Black, then BG fans in ORANGE!

We deserve the title..
If NIU loses their final 2 games, they don't deserve it. When we beat Toledo, they won't deserve it either. In other words, if we end up the MAC west champions, it would only be because we deserve it by losing less games to MAC opponents than any other team in the West. I don't know where all this we don't deserve it crap is coming from, but a team that goes 9-1 in the MAC, with the nearest competitor going 8-2, is truly deserving.
Bottom line...You get what you deserve and if we are fortunate enough to win the MAC West, it's because we bounced back from an early season loss and went on to reel off 8 games in a row. Sounds pretty darn deserving to me.
GO BG!!!
