No it doesn't. It sounds more like a courtesy to me.BleedOrange wrote:Yeah, you're right. I guess that's why the idea of a meeting btw DD & Christopher "to see if he has a future at BGSU" doesn't quite sound right.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:As cool as this would be, I think we all know it doesn't work that way.BleedOrange wrote:
If DD does get an extension, hopefully it will be based on the condition that he revamps his offensive philosophy from the ground up.
When will the decision be made?

I expect an announcement quickly. Illinois state only waited 2 days after their first round loss in the Missouri Valley tournament to fire Porter Mosser. This will be no different. I would not be surprised if the decision is already made and an announcement will happen shortly after the women win their third consecutive MAC tournament title.

And, of course, Chryst will say: "I really don't think this game against Boise is going to work out. Wait - what were we talking about?"hammb wrote:I would expect that Christopher will stick around Cleveland to watch the girls games. Rick Chryst can s**k it, by the way.

Head back to Mo's blog for Dakich's presser transcript... doesn't make things any easier or clearer, but it's a great read...

I guess this is the right thread to post this.......
It is simple. Christopher should just announce that Coach Dakich's contract will not be renewed. How hard is it? Everyone knows what is going to happen. We don't need to wait until next week or whatever the magical date is on the contract. Then DD can start looking elsewhere and so can BGSU.
I always like DD, he will be missed. It is unfair to let him hang for a week or two. Be a man, just do it.
I guarantee DD will rise from the ashes. He'll be an assistant somewhere next year.

Dude...I'm not part of the Birkenstock and granola crowd that gets all weepy over such things, but "girls" play basketball in High School. "Women" play basketball in college.hammb wrote:I would expect that Christopher will stick around Cleveland to watch the girls games. I know you don't like the game, but at least show some respect for the particiapants......or I'll give the Birkenstock and granola crowd a description of your car.

I generally refer to the student population as college kids.
I generally call the female students college girls, not college women.
Thus those that play basketball, are still girls.
Perhaps it's me just not wanting to grow up, but so long as they're younger than me they're girls. Women are like 40

As far as Coach D, it would not kill me to see him get a one year extension. I know he wants to win and see his players excel more than just about anyone. OTOH, this losing must stop. AA used to be thee toughest place to play in the MAC> Now, we're lucky if 1500 show up and teams waltz in and drill us by 20 at times. That sux.
Personally, I don't think Coach's contract will be renewed. IF this is the end for Dan, I will sorely miss him. His "Dan Asks Dan" segment on his TV show a few years back was hilarious and I love his brutal honesty. Sure he is stubborn...most of us are.
I wish Dan and his family the best no matter what happens. They are quality people and deserve to know the decision quickly.
I love ya, Coach.

I'd love to see him get a one year extension. He recruited all of those young guys, and there are loads of talented freshmen there. I'd love to see what Dakich could do with the talent he saw in those guys for one more year.Falconfreak90 wrote:So do I.Flipper wrote:I like women who are 40...I have one at home![]()
