Some positive vibes for Jordan...

Post by Falconfreak90 »

"BG defensive back Jelani Jordan has a league-high 11 pass break ups."

Per Nick Vandelay's site, Vandelaysports.com. I wasn't aware of that! BG as a team has 40 PBU's. I know I've gotten on Jelani about getting burned but it seems he is playing better these days. He and the secondary will need their "A" game with the Herd WR's. But, I think our D line is just destroying opposing O lines and will get to Hill quite often.

Freak:

I think our defensive backfield is starting to jell. Keon's the playmaker, clearly, but Mayberry and Jordan look better each week. I'm still concerned about Carswell in pass coverage, but the guy can certainly lay down some wood. And as you and I have discussed, I think Perry is going to be a star before he hangs up the orange and brown.

The line, though, is the key to our defense. If they get into the backfield, everything falls into place - run or pass. If they get bottled up, our scheme breaks down. I think they're due for two big games against Marshall and Toodaleedo.

open mouth, insert foot.

Jordan was a smooth rub v. the turd. He played the best game of the year for him IMO. I hope he can tear it up in the glass bowl the same way next week.

I understand but is anyone in their right mind gonna try to throw on Keon?

Keon plays Safety now...so the choice in a standard defense (which rarely happens with today's spread offenses) is Mayberry or Jelani. If I were the QB whoever is being covered by Jordan would be my number one read on every play.

My bad hammb....Keon is playing safety now. Just trying to give the embattled CB some love!

They all get burned once in a while....let's hope he can cover well, and that we help him out with a little pass rush.

note to Perry...turn your head! on two different plays (one was in the end-zone and should have been pass interference) on saturday, Perry failed to turn and play the ball...he scares me!?

He doesn't scare me, but he'll definitely need to be more consistent next year. His coverage skills haven't been great and his speed isn't anything to write home about. Not too many people thought much of Keon when he was a freshman, either....

As far as Jelani, I think he does a good job making plays on the ball. His problem is when guys line up and run right by him. I think he has improved as this season has gone on, though. Hopefully he can have the game of his life this weekend against Davis and Bates.

I understand what you are saying, but the fact of the matter is the thud and (sp)rockets are now. I'm not writing him off, just stating he scared me a couple times on saturday. Toledo could pick that to pieces if he doesn't turn his head and pick one or even deflect a pass...

Perry has to improve, I agree.

But I'll stand by my prediction that he'll be a star before it's all said and done.

Played a game of NCAA 2005 online last night and Jelani Jordan gave up 5 TD passes to Roy Hall of OSU :(

He also had an INT he returned for a TD, so he ended up with player of the game. I was cursing him all game long and he ended up with the player of the game. GRRR

I hadn't played it in awhile, but we finally got cable internet at home. If you haven't played that game online you haven't played it at all. It is a blast online.

It keeps track of your stats, your record, it ranks you (ranking points are based upon W/L, quality of opponent, quality of opponents' teams, home or away, etc).

It is a great feeling to take BG into a large venue and knock off a big time team...oh yeah did I mention I'm pretty good :) LOL I woulda won last night, but Jelani screwed me over, and OSU is way better in the game than they are in real life.

hammb, I'm upgrading my gaming system from a seldom used playstation. Should I go with the PS2 or an Xbox?
