Mid-day on the Monday after the season ends doesn't qualify as "dragging it out" in my view.

Hopefully, you will get your relief soon.

It has nothing to do with me.

It has everything to do with Dan Dakich, his family, the assistant coaches and the players deserving a right to know their fate and the fate of the BGSU basketball program in a respectful, timely fashion.

It also has to do with positioning the program best for the future in a highly competitive environment.

If John Wooden comes out of retirement to take the NIU job, then says at his press conference "I was hoping to get the BG job, but they didn't deal with Dakich fast enough.", I'll have a fit.

Since that isn't going to happen, I'm willing to give them this week to talk, think, and decide the future of the position.

I personally would find it humorous if Dan got tired of waiting around and just signed somewhere else as an assistant or a HC...that would be funny and I think something our administration would deserve for the way this has been playing out thus far.

Even if your AD is going to make a move, the traditional time to interview candidates is during the coaches convention at the Final Four. It's highly unlikely that you'll lose any good candidates between now and then -- particularly if you're targeting assistants from the power schools.

Whoever noted up the thread that this is no time to detract attention from your best-ever women's team was right on point.

For some reason I got this strange feeling the announcement will happen the same day the MAC releases its football schedule, which is suppose to be sometime this week

but the really strange thing about is when they announce the football schedule they are also going to announce that Coach Dakich and Coach Brandon are switching places... they want to try a little something different.

Much agreed. I feel a little stupid for not realizing it in the first place.

So, we shouldn't expect any announcements on Dakich's future until at least three days after the women get eliminated?

That works too. :D

But that is a long time to let Dakich twist in the wind.

My honest guess is that WE'RE the only ones left twisting in the wind. I'm betting all the directly involved parties already know what's going on.

I'll agree with that.

Should I drive by his house and see if there is a "For Sale" sign in the yard?

If there is why don't you move it over to Brandon's yard ;)

Maybe DD is returning.

Maybe we know better than the 23 other Division I schools who have already made it official, hired top search firms and are making calls and identifying and recruiting the cream of the crop as I write this. (Two of whom, might I add, have participants in the NCAA Women's Tournament)

Maybe Christopher saw how Krebs kept the Paluch extention quiet and throught "Hey, that's not a bad idea."

Maybe this is a nod to the women's program and a legitimate attempt to keep the spotlight on them through the seeding process.

All I know is that the men's program is in a state of flux right now with major, major questions to answer, namely
1) Who's in charge right now after hammb's contact countdown has now expired, and
2) Who will be in charge for the forseeable future?

Maybe it's just me, but I'd kind of like some answers, and so do a lot of other interested parties.
