Extension for Miller?
If I recall correctly, Curt Miller was given an extension at the end of last season....If I were the AD, (and I know how much you guys LOVE him so far), I'd call Curt in and say, "let's tear up the 'old' extension and give you a new 3-5 yr. contract for DOUBLE your present salary".
After the job he's done, and with some arguably very talented players on the way in to replace this mighty Sr. class, I think it's the smart thing to do.... assuming of course that we wish to remain at the top of the heap. It might also make his leaving a bit more difficult with a shiny new and lucrative contract in hand. I know that some of the Power Conference schools could still pay more, but at least we'd start to get competitive in the salary area...and certainly this man has earned this!

I agree with the spirit of this thread, but I just wonder if Miller (or any smart, ambitious head coach) would sign a deal that included an enormous buyout clause?Jacobs4Heisman wrote:At the very least, give him a sizeable raise and put a HUGE buyout clause in there.
Christopher needs to get this done.

On a couple of accounts he he has said that Bowling Green is where he wants his family to grow up. If he stays with that, we have a great coach for a very long time!bobio wrote:I hope we can somehow hold on to him. Just saw Cincinnati's coach is retiring. Too many openings all of a sudden!

Re: Miller
I'm not sure that's right. Burnett's base salary was under 170k, and she had 2 final fours under her belt when she came to Michigan. I have doubts they'd pony up much more than that for Miller.MacGuy wrote:Miller probably makes around $115K. A school like Michigan could offer him $500+.

I just threw my computer across the room....that man pisses me off more that anyone else ever....I just hope he never says "We have unfinished business". That, if you'll remember, was the beginning of the end.
Except of course for Art Modell, and a certain member of the BGSU Faculty
I love my birds! Go Falcons, Go Jayhawks!!!
