With Morrison, Dobek, Barnett, Brudzewski, Rogo, Pilkington and Falk back, what do we do with the lines/playing roster? Lets have a little fun and play coach for a while. i'll see if I can re-create the lines from this weekend (okay, I cheated...thank you gametracker!)...
From This Past Weekend...
Erikson, Minnabarriet, Meloche
Foster, Mazzie, Geelan
Whitmore, Unger, Matsumoto
Piersol, Hanson, pedota/bronson
Siggy, Sitko
Christie, Hodgson
Bronson, Pedota
My Guess (It's a thought of who needs to be in an who sits...I'm sure I've got guys "out of position")
Whitmore, Unger, Matsumoto - Unger and Matsumoto (he needs a nickname) play so well together
Rogo, Pilkington, Foster
Falk, Mazzie, Minnabarriet (Hate to break these guys up, but they need some leadership)
Bru, Geelan, Meloche
Siggy, Morrison
Sitko, Hodgson
Christie, Bronson

"Eyeball to eyeball, I said, 'Dr. Cartwright, don't put me in this position if you plan on dropping hockey. That won't happen as long as I'm alive. I'll fight that to my grave." - Jack Vivian

No argument here, but I would be tempted to put as many of "The Seven" on the same line. They want to make up ground, and maybe the ones who have been playing are beginning to develop an awareness of how to complement each other.
Something that became real evident after the first period in South Bend: without Sitko, there are no bangers out there. The other defensemen sort of get in the way of the opposing forwards, but aren't as emphatic as Jon. As BG starts to play against tougher and rougher teams, they're going to have to hit.
I also have a feeling that a few players were off their feed on Saturday night. Flu? Too many playing minutes?

All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.

Tonights paper said Sitko's status is still day to day. Hope he can play, but we sure don't want a lingering injury plaguing him all year!

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
