BG/Toledo is being played on Friday. OSU will play on Saturday so that is not a valid excuse. That game, in my opinion, has been very successful the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. The student can still sleep in their residence hall rooms that night and it can be the start of a long holiday weekend for those with enough vacation time. Having the game on Friday afternoon really screws the pooch (not the hockey coach). There is a lot of potential for hotel rooms to be booked full of essential (marching band, cheerleaders, etc.) people for the game and not the fans who would be paying to be there. However, with a 2:30 start time hotel rooms or lack thereof could be a non factor. That is the only part of the schedule that pisses me off. I also realize that since the MAC is nothing more than ESPN's little whore we could see that or any other game moved for TV.jeebus wrote:oh forgot...another problem with the 2:30 toledo...my original problem.
BG toledo is one of our biggest games. seems to me thats why its been PRIME TIME for the last....well as long as i can remember... instead lets put it in a slot where it'll be on espnu and nobody will see it...since u generally need to go to a bar to see espnu games and EVEN I am rarely at bars at 2:30.
LOOK OUT 1AA here comes the FALCONS! and there goes me... (ok, im mad but im getting fed up...did i mention that?)
The (crappy) 2007 schedule is out!

The MAC got what it wanted. It used Krebs and now it's using Christopher. We played Temple before they became a fulltime member of the MAC for the main office. Now we are playing Western Kentucky before they become a fulltime member.
When I was an intern at the MAC there were weekly talks about WKU being a member. Also, when I was there, BG always went out of its way to accomodate the MAC both in football and basketball. We gave up games against very good teams in basketball just to make the MAC happy. It's ridiculous that we bend over backward to make the comish and Bob Gennarelli happy and they go out of their way to screw us.

Considering the amount of people that have said they are not going to buy season tickets and aren't putting another dime into the university, I don't see how that will happen. Maybe he is thinking about some big sponsors like Microsoft-Doyt Perry Stadium. Or even tonights matchup between Western Kentucky and Bowling Green is sponsored by Spam. Who knows?factman wrote:He better be able to raise a

i too am not that happy with the schedule. i'll be able to travel to some cool away games, but i like going to away games.
But wasn't the BG/Toledo game on the friday after thanksgiving in 2003? I for some reason remember coming back up here during thanksgiving break for marching band. that is a long time ago and stuff and the team was better, but I remember people in the stands.
I could be wrong, my memory seems to slip!

Yeah, it was a Friday at 11:30am, moved from Saturday late in the season. There was a hockey game that night. I defiled Spots' parking lot.FMBfan07 wrote:But wasn't the BG/Toledo game on the friday after thanksgiving in 2003?
