Team & Composite Schedules

Post by MACReport »

At MAC Report Online I have posted a piece on the release of the football schedules that also includes links to a listing by team and the composite schedule.

A lot of MAC teams have five home games. And OU and WMU, who have six, have 1-AA teams on their schedule.

The question that still remains is if all this shuffling has been done to benefit the MAC, how does UT keep SEVEN home games on the slate? And Temple, too, for that matter.. they should be the whipping boy in this scheduling circle jerk, yet they host Navy and Penn State. Perks of a big stadium, I guess... :?

I've been mulling the situation over in my mind. Chryst seems intent on making a certain minority of football programs in the MAC happy (WMU, OU, TU, and UT.)

For the life of me, I've been trying to figure out why. :x Strange things are afoot, my friends. Strange things which, I fear, may not be in our best interest.

Are implying that Chryst is trying to keep certains teams from leaving the MAC by giving them the best schedules?

Not the best schedules, per se. Perhaps the more lucritive one's?

Just thinking out loud.

I think that's a reach, especially if you're including WMU in that group. WMU folks say Chryst stripped the Michigan State game away them and gave it to BGSU. Not only is that likely money out of their pocket, it also took away a game they could have very likely won.

I don't believe it took that much money out of their pocket. They still have a nice OOC slate with Iowa, WVU, Mizzou, and Indiana at home. I would say their OOC is on par w/ ours.

Like I said, I'm just thinking out loud. I don't think BG got the worst schedule but we did get the biggest shaft - specifically regarding our home schedule.

If he did, it would be about the best thing he ever said by a Norwegian mile or two.
