I would like to be optomistic here and think we said no because of the out of conference schedule coach Miller already has in place for the next 5 years or so. Maybe we are just full and it isn't possible. But I would love to see this match up anyway. Maybe we can play in Celveland this year..

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's due to the fact that many schedules are made several years in advance. Right now we are closing in on a deal with either Duke or North Carolina starting next season. Looks like we may open up with one of them at home. Also, we have a home game lined up against Tennessee next season to make up for the return game we gave them this year. Insell is an ambitious scheduler, and he only wants us to play the best.

This actually leads us into something else that is sort of apparent -- but has not been said that I've seen.

Bowling Green scheduled brilliantly this season.

Miller and Krebs obviously knew what they had in this senior class, and they set up a nonconference schedule that gave the Falcons the opportunity to achieve. The tournament with Duke is an example. So is the game with Delaware, which really helped BG's RPI. There are probably a couple of other examples that I'm forgetting off hand -- but just great games that really helped BG's standing with the committee.

Home game with Indiana fits your theme, Schad. I agree that everything was lined up perfectly with the team and schedule maturing at the same pace.

Home games with Temple and Delaware, too. One of the best home schedules in history and the ladies really came through and capitalized on it.

I'm very curious to see the schedule next year.

Damn, you've got a home game with Tenn? I never in a billion years would've thought a school with the prestige of Tennessee would even consider going to a "mid-major's" home floor. I have a feeling Ohio St. would rather stick their hands in boiling acid before coming to Anderson Arena to play a game. You've must got a great AD and coach to pull this off. If you pull off a home game with either UNC or Duke that would be amazing. Wish we could pull something like that off for us.

Really? Ok, but was OSU good back then? I remember us having Michigan here for a ladies game once but I don't think the UM women were very good back then either. Besides getting Tennessee is alot different than OSU even. Tenn has been a Top 5-10 program for eons.

Is this falconboy chiming in on another topic he knows absolutely nothing about but still acts like he is an expert? Who would've known?

It isn't Tennessee that's interested in playing at Middle Tennessee as much as it is Pat Summit doing a favor for long-time friend, Rick Insell--headcoach of Middle Tennessee. Rick Insell coached for 28 seasons at Shelbyville Central High School (Shelbyville, TN)--a Top 2 nationally recognized girl's basketball program with Christ the King out of New York. At Shelbyville, Insell won 10 Class AAA state titles, won 2 USAToday national titles, was named the national high school girls' Coach of the Year twice, and won 110 straight games at one point in his tenure. He sent 47 girls to Division 1 schools. One currently plays for Maryland and another plays for Florida.

Many thought that Insell would replace Summit at Tennessee after she retired, but I don't think that'll happen now. Insell is coaching his alma mater. He refers to Middle Tennessee as his "dream job."

Summit told Insell back in the summer that she had no problem giving Middle Tennessee a return game in Murfreesboro. I expect many, MANY more games against Tennessee in the future both home and away.
