I want to go up to MSU. My girlfriend goes there, and I've got a lot of friends in the Spartan Band. That'd be a fun game!

I wonder if there's a hot tub involved. I was just thinking about that the other day, actually

BGSU Bands

Post by falcongirl17 »

Personally I would love to see the band go to Minnesota because if we want to get our name more known around the nation as being a good band then we need to go further away from OH plus it'd be cool to see them perform there

it would be great to go there, but it would cost soooooo much money to send a 200+ person band to minnesota...it would never happen.

Welcome to the board April (hahaha I figured it out without your help!). I agree (wow:wink:), plus if Wisconsin's band came here, then why can't the FMB go to Minnesota.
GO FALCONS!!

I have this sneaking suspician that BG doesn't operate on the same kind of budget that the Wisconsin band does. That might play a bit of a role.

I'm pretty sure that's the WHOLE role, that and I think most of the Big 10+ bands travel to all away games.

I wouldn't say most. Michigan goes only to OSU, MSU, and ND. OSU goes to Michigan and one or two other big games, sometimes more. Penn State goes to a couple of big ones each year. Iowa only seems to go to Minnesota and Wisconsin. Minnesota seems to only go to Iowa and Wisconsin. Northwestern will go to Illinois and one other big one. Illinois will go to Northwestern and one or two other big ones. Indiana goes to Purdue and take your pick of OSU, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Purdue goes to Indiana and one other big one. I think you see the pattern.

Anyway, Wisconsin is the band that travels the most, followed by OSU, and then its really one to two games a year traveled by the other Big 10 bands.

today we found out that MSU's alumni day is the day we play MSU, so if that is so then dr. H said we won't be going to MSU

Good. Its still better to go to Minnesota. Sure, its farther but we have a better shot at beating the Gophers than the Spartans I think. Both have new head coaches, but MSU has Dantonio, who is just phenomenal, and I don't know a thing about Minnesota's new coach, which doesn't say anything good about him. And, MSU has more talent coming from last year than Minnesota does. Also, MSU's band is much better than Minnesota's so there's a better chance of the FMB putting on a better received show at Minnesota than MSU.
