Poor Attendance
Poor Attendance
Watching some of the women's tournament today, I saw some pretty empty arenas. I also read where the Connecticut site had sold the most presale tickets of any first round site and they still had nearly 8,000 tickets unsold.
I have to believe that we'll be one of the better travel teams and could have a decent showing in East Lansing.
Just goes to show how far the women's game has to go to catch up with the men's.

It looked and sounded good on TV.
The box score says 6,504 attended. Orange was everywhere, of course.

6,504 is the session attendance, it's listed as the same for both the Vandy game and ours.pdt1081 wrote:If I'm not mistaken, this figure was announced before the end of the first game. I never heard an announcement during the BG game.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing as I watched the game!!pdt1081 wrote:It was great seeing all that orange covering up that ugly green...Tricky_Falcon wrote:I think BG traveled pretty well for today's game. It pretty much sounded like a home game for us. I'm certain seeing all of that orange helped too.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
