You're right...South Florida, Tulane, Army, Houston, East Carolina, Memphis, Cincinnati, and Alabama-Birmingham all have the sorts of football programs we only wish we could have.
I am sorry, you do have EMU, CMU, WMU, Kent, Akron (even though they beat us), Buffalo, OU, and Ball State left.

Yes I did leave out you guys, (as you left us out of your CUSA scenario), and I left out Miami (as you left out Southern Mississippi), and I did leave out Toledo.

Keep in mind however, that Cincinnati, Army and South Florida are no longer in the CUSA. Know your facts before you try to degrade a conference, but then again this is coming from a MAC fan.

And if you do not want to have a football program like Memphis then you are ....well never mind I keep forgeting who I am speaking with.

And you comment about multiple bowl tie ins in the future for the MAC, dude there are only going to be a handful of teams even eligible for a bowl, remember the attendance issue, if you dont get it fixed then you go on probation, after that you lose a bowl, then after that you go 1-AA.

10 conference championships in your history. We have 5 in the last 7 years with this year still pending.

The MAC is no longer 3 yards and a clowd of dust, it is actually getting somewhat better, and why is that, suck it up and admit it, it is because of Marshall, plain and simple.

Cincinnati & USF might be the best 2 programs currently IN that conference as well. They add one good program in Marshall & one crappy one in UCF. Its a lateral move at best in terms of overall quality. They do have a ton of bowl tie-ins but we'll see about that in the future

I don't think you'll find too many people that would deny the fact that Marshall has raised the bar in the conference. They came in and forced the rest of us to come up to their level. But guess what, Marshall has been surpassed! More importantly they're being surpassed by programs that aren't taking the retreads of every other big school. Smoked too much weed? Come to Marshall. Didn't like that pesky thing called class? Come to Marshall! Discipline? Pashaw, come to Marshall!

Marshall runs a shady program by accepting the shadiest of characters. Are they talented? Hell yes they are, but that doesn't make it right. Forgive us for hating a team full of thugs & felons.

I do want to thank Marshall for raising the bar in the MAC. In fact, I wish they'd stay because they're good for the MAC...ON THE FIELD. But I sure as hell don't like 'em!

Touche.

IF you read into those requirments, they are more to keep the current 1-a stable and hinder 1-aa teams, like yourself and Troy, from making the jump UP rather than creating a mechanism for teams to drop ala European relegation.

As we have pointed out on numerous other threads, yes we agree. Marshall did a lot for the members of this conference and their football programs, forcing them to step up to the plate so to speak. I give a lot of credit to the following and program that has been created in WV and accross HerdNation.

Still, that doesn't stop me from ridiculing you for wanting to go to "greener" pastures in CUSA. Lateral move at best.

I wanna rout these guys 73-3.

BTW, BG leads the all time series with Marshall 19-7, and has TEN MAC titles to your five. Then again, many Herd fans think the MAC started in 1997!

Oh, good. You wouldn't want USF and Cincinnati around...they actually win the occasional game.

No, right, that was impressive last season when Memphis went to the New Orleans Bowl. Their first bowl game in more than 30 years, their first winning season in eight years.

Since you know everything, I'm sure you realize that before last season, Memphis had been to a total of one bowl game. One. Before the 2003 New Orleans Bowl, Kent State had been to a bowl game more recently than Memphis.

And then there's that 5-3 record this season, 2-3 in Conference USA.

Man alive, them Memphis boys can sure play some football! Who-eee!! Someday I hope we can be as good as they are!!!

Yes and there was the nearly 50,000 fans they had at their game last week against Louisville on a weeknight. But then again, it takes you guys two and sometimes three games to get that many fans out to the powerful DOYT, so I guess you are right, why would you want that.

I'd rather have a good football team than 50,000 fans in the seats.

If you prefer large crowds to good football, maybe Conference USA is for you after all....

I do not recall leaving.

You guys are set in your MAC ways and will never amount to anything as a program. Period.
