I like what we have coming back and what we have coming in. The future is BRIGHT.

You're right. A MAC player of the year candidate senior PG, a great defender and shooter at guard, talented post players coming back, along with the best (on paper) recruiting class in BG history. I weep for the future.Globetrotter wrote:Miller and the seniors will be gone so we will be rebuilding that program too.

We are losing 6 seniors and Our HC, I would call that rebuilding. I did not say we were in a bad position to rebuild quickly, but losing 6 of your top 8-9 mplayers is a case for rebuilding.Jacobs4Heisman wrote:You're right. Maybe it's best if you don't talk about things about which you have no clue.

I was in Bowling Green from 1988 to 1992. The women did have some buzz going.NWLB wrote:And fan attendance has historical precident in BG. In 1992 when I first started attending the women's games, they were outdrawing the mens team even then.

Someone (I forget who) mentioned that some schools have their women's and men's teams play in different arenas. With the talk that has gone on about the potential (at any point) for a new Convo center w/ larger basketball arena, I have to think that with a few upgrades, I wouldn't mind seeing the women's program stay at Anderson either - with the potential for games to be moved to the other site in the event of a very large draw. I love Anderson Arena and agree that there are few buildings that can get rocking like it can.Schadenfreude wrote:A final thought: I tend to think that Anderson is a very, very good building for the women. It's right sized, and it doesn't take much to make it noisy as all get out.
If the locker rooms need to be nuked to give the women what they deserve, let's get it done. But, I like Anderson. I think it makes sense for this program. And, the way the place has been crowded and noisy this year, I'm not sure it's a recruiting disadvantage.
Would anyone here rather play at the JAR in front of 400 a night?

If you put it that way, then the women will have to play there. They deserve the best.Tricky_Falcon wrote:I know Kentucky does this. But if we're getting a new Convo, the women deserve to play there.

Dana Altman, the men's coach at Creighton, has enjoyed great success. He is a coach at a smaller program like ours who has had success that has had many opportunities but has chose to stay on and lead the Blue Jays.Globetrotter wrote:If you have not noticed when coaches at smaller programs like ours have success they tend to go to more higher paying and higher profile jobs. He has a swweet 16 team, and may have more. I would imagine he will get plenty of opportunities this year.
