Congratulations! You're half right - the seniors will be gone.

I like what we have coming back and what we have coming in. The future is BRIGHT.

You're right. A MAC player of the year candidate senior PG, a great defender and shooter at guard, talented post players coming back, along with the best (on paper) recruiting class in BG history. I weep for the future.

Maybe it's best if you don't talk about things about which you have no clue.

We are losing 6 seniors and Our HC, I would call that rebuilding. I did not say we were in a bad position to rebuild quickly, but losing 6 of your top 8-9 mplayers is a case for rebuilding.

I love declarative statments based on little more than uninformed projections.
The seniors are getting an extra year of eligibilty?

If you have not noticed when coaches at smaller programs like ours have success they tend to go to more higher paying and higher profile jobs. He has a swweet 16 team, and may have more. I would imagine he will get plenty of opportunities this year.

Who cares if they are the women's team. This is a moment of glory for BGSU, period. Any and all serious fans, even if they don't follow the team actively, should and will tip their hat for this achievement.

The entire conference should cheer this from on high, because it is being done at the school with the worst home venue in the MAC.

And fan attendance has historical precident in BG. In 1992 when I first started attending the women's games, they were outdrawing the mens team even then. The city supports those women, when they are good. There is a higher level of appreciation for women's basketball, dating back and in part due to Fran Voll's time.

In any case, their strong showing and attendance is only more reason to build a new and better facility. It helps when both teams using the venue can draw well for the city.

Trust me, beating the Toledo women's team feels at least as good as beating their men's team.

I was in Bowling Green from 1988 to 1992. The women did have some buzz going.

That said, this year was the strongest ever at the gate for the Falcon women. And, while I'll stand corrected, my sense is that this may be the first time the women have outdrawn the men.

A final thought: I tend to think that Anderson is a very, very good building for the women. It's right sized, and it doesn't take much to make it noisy as all get out.

If the locker rooms need to be nuked to give the women what they deserve, let's get it done. But, I like Anderson. I think it makes sense for this program. And, the way the place has been crowded and noisy this year, I'm not sure it's a recruiting disadvantage.

Would anyone here rather play at the JAR in front of 400 a night?

Someone (I forget who) mentioned that some schools have their women's and men's teams play in different arenas. With the talk that has gone on about the potential (at any point) for a new Convo center w/ larger basketball arena, I have to think that with a few upgrades, I wouldn't mind seeing the women's program stay at Anderson either - with the potential for games to be moved to the other site in the event of a very large draw. I love Anderson Arena and agree that there are few buildings that can get rocking like it can.

I know Kentucky does this. But if we're getting a new Convo, the women deserve to play there.

Heck, IF the team makes it to the Final Four, they should name the floor Curt Miller Court.

If you put it that way, then the women will have to play there. They deserve the best.

But would a big new building be best?

I'm not convinced of that at all. Heck, I'm still not convinced a bigger building is better for the men.

I'd like to see Anderson become a loud, obnoxious palace for the women. If the locker rooms are bad, bulldoze them. If the floor is too hard, get 'em a new one. They deserve a great place to play.

I think Anderson may be that place.

Incidentally, when I first broached this idea a month or two ago, I may have incorrectly stated that the Ohio State women play at St. John's Arena.

They do not. They moved to the Schot. The volleyball, gymnastics and wrestling teams still use St. John's, but neither basketball team remains there.

And I think that also might be a mistake. I've seen a high school girls basketball game at St. John's. It was noisy as heck -- a great atmosphere that, from what I understand, is sorely lacking at the Schot.

Dana Altman, the men's coach at Creighton, has enjoyed great success. He is a coach at a smaller program like ours who has had success that has had many opportunities but has chose to stay on and lead the Blue Jays.

Why? He won't be coaching there, remember?
