Coach salary subsidies/bonuses.......
As I have come to realize over the past years is that many big school coaches have their massive salaries subsidized by the fans or alums/boosters. Does any of that even happen in th Mac. If it doesn't why not? I'd be willing to give something to put in some kind of pool with other fans to help give Coach Miller a boost in his salary or just a nice extra bonus to help keep him here. I'm just thinking outloud as I haven't had much time to think about it , untill now. Thoughts?

Exactly why it's funny. People that come halfway through games aren't giving the school any money. Less money for the school, less money they can offer as salary.kdog27 wrote: Every quarter helps.

If he's going to stay, he will. But that outcome won't be effected by a small amount of money most of us can offer him. If that was the case, I'd start taking him bags of quarters, too! This choice is his. We did all we could by going to games and showing that he has fan support. Hopefully the school can do it's part and put up some added benefits and incentives for him but that's no longer in our hands.falconboy wrote: Well, thanks for your vote of confidence Metz.I'm just thinking out lout here and you just have to poke fun. Whatever dude, what ever helps you sleep at night my friend.
And yeah, I'm going to poke fun. That's a ridiculous statement in all honesty. You can think out loud all you want, but why type those thoughts to us?

Agree totally. Unless BG is going to pay Miller way more than it pays its football coach, the salary won't be competitive with a big school. All depends whether Miller wants to stay. Plus, there's no guarantee that he will get a big-time offer.Metz wrote:If he's going to stay, he will. But that outcome won't be effected by a small amount of money most of us can offer him. Wow, $29 or whatever it was for one year. I'm sure coach will want to stick around for $125,029 from you over $125,000! At least he'll get an extra tank of gas out of the deal.falconboy wrote: Umm exactly why it isn't , as I paid for season tix this year, so there buddy.
Point of information...I used 125K as it is his base salary from what I've heard before incentives and falconboy's large donation for season tickets.

Who's talking about my season tix being a donation , I'm just shooting down your theory that I've been coming to games at halftime. UGh!Metz wrote:Wow, $29 or whatever it was for one year. The way that coaches are paid are not from seperate accounts for each sports. For example, just because the Miller makes around $125k, that $125k isn't coming from a "Women's Basketball Fund." Yes, it's good to support the women's basketball team. However, you should support all sports (by buying tickets, merchandise, donations, etc.) if you're argument is getting Miller more money.

Ther'es got to be more too it than that. How does Alabama get like 8 mill to pay whats-his-face to coach their football team. That money can't be coming from the general Athletic Dept. fund. Plus, I'm there has to be donors/boosters that are giving money specifically to keep their football program at a high level.BGDrew wrote:The way that coaches are paid are not from seperate accounts for each sports.
